Hey everyone
can you please recommend some really inspiring and uplifting personal blogs…
am a teenager and would prefer blogs by young adults…although any other inspiring blogs will be just fine..
thanks in advance..September 18, 2015 at 7:12 pm #83622James NgParticipantHi Glet,
In my opinion, TinyBuddha and DailyZen are good websites that have helpful and uplifting content. You are also welcome to check out my blog/website @ naturalignment.com. I started it about two years ago, sharing my knowledge and experiences about various topics in health that range from nutrition and exercise to consciousness and spirituality, definitely suitable for a young adult like yourself. Let me know what you think.
After reading, learning, and experiencing as much as possible, maybe you might start a personal and uplifting blog yourself one day.
Best,
James

I read your post and when I saw the title I thought this must be some karmic intervention. For long years I battled with weight and I am now in the process of finally conquering it. And while I battled it I became quite the expert at it. 🙂
I would say your post is really good. Very solid advice. I would like to propose to you that you talk more about counting calories. It is really simple to do this and it is extremely effective for achieving your goals.
I read all your other posts too. Just like I said I like your blog. I am sorry to say I dont really have any negative critisism. 🙂
Your welcome and have a great day.

It’s funny how the Universe works eh? Things happen for a reason. Thanks for the feedback.
In regards to calories, I used to focus on counting them and stress the importance of doing so. I understand that some people would benefit from counting calories because of their special health conditions. However, my view has changed over the years because I think many people obsess about it and eventually stress over meeting their numbers. Eating shouldn’t be a math problem and shouldn’t be complicated. I may be wrong but I think this is mainly a first world problem, definitely a big issue in the US.
Keep up the good fight! I’m sure you are inspiring others on your journey as well.

I understand your dilemma with counting the calories. It can be stressful. You one day eat to much and all of a sudden you are in a bad mood even though you know it means absolutely nothing for the overall picture. But it is a powerfull tool for weight loss and I think everyone should consider it.

September 20, 2015 at 7:54 pm #83716James NgParticipantHey Glet,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my website. I’m glad you like it. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
You know growing up I never aspired to be a writer but realized later in life that writing helps you get your ideas, thoughts, feelings and emotions out. And since I have a passion for helping others, I figured why not blog and reach people from all around the world (this is more personal).
Just want to share this with you:
You don’t have to “good” at something before you try it. Just do it. And it doesn’t have to be writing, per se.
“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.”
-Mahatma GandhiSorry about going off on a tangent haha. And I will check out your blog soon.
Take care,
JamesSeptember 21, 2015 at 9:01 am #83737GletParticipantHello james
I definitely agree with you
writing has really helped me to get my emotions and I always feel better when I write down whatever it is am feeling..
I also did not imagine that I would start writing but my friends always told me that I have a way of putting my thoughts into words and they liked that way…so I started writing..its more of a personal diary where I just put my feelings down…and it has been helping me alot
