Greetings! My name is Maria, though everybody calls me Maya. I’m 25 years old and I’m from Mexico City. I’m currently working on my college thesis as well as working on a project with an NGO called Save the Children to bring meditation to children and educators. I’ve been studying and practicing the Dharma for a couple of years now and although I had experience with meditation and spiritual practices before, coming across the Dharma profoundly changed my understanding and deepened my experience and continues to do so everyday. Although I don’t make distintions between lineages and traditions, my practices and teachers belong to Vajrayana Buddhism and my main practice is White Tara which I try to do daily to the best of my extent. I have the aspiration of deepening in my practices to continue cultivating a mind of loving kindness and compassion for all beings, as well as my faith and devotion. That’s why I’m planning on doing a six month long gnöndrö retreat next year at the Garchen Buddhist Institute consinting on the preliminary practices and I’m reaching out to the global community for support. If anybody feels inspired to donate, this is the link of my offering bowl petition:

Otherwise, simply sharing it on your social media or amongst any Sangha friends would be of tremendous help for me too, since I’m not on social media myself. Should anybody want to connect my Skype name is shanti.sundari
In deep gratitude,
