Sea Island, Sea is Land, you like the sea, the ocean, the tide between Florida and Georgia. Thank you for sharing!

Dear Ahelper: yes, memory of a past fear projected through the present into the future- well put, says I! Fear is a guttural emotion. Over thinking is a problem- emotions and thoughts intimately connected, feeding each other. Less people choose the route of rational logic when it comes to fear, I agree. The mind does move very quickly. It does need to be watched, observed. The trick is automatic thinking- you can’t watch it, that is “hear” the words when the thought is on automation and linked to fear. It takes time, insight and practice to recognize those automatic thoughts, those thoughts without words (anymore).

Fear is a guttural emotion, reaction. It is in the core of so much illness. It is not to be underestimated. “Every one of us has to find a way to live with fear.”

    Dear Jack:

I am thinking that over thinking is a result of not feeling/ thinking about the real issue, resisting the real issue and focusing on side issues, so that side issue thinking never gets to the real issue, anxiety not resolved and thinking continues in its futility.

As for me, I do fear death.
Example If someone had already experienced death and came back right now. And told me that everything will be okay when I died.
I’d still be afraid because of uncertainty of the unknown. (Fear)
I believe that life is about experience and perception.
Many many people live here all walks of life, with different backgrounds and cultures. There is no right or wrong answer. I feel that as long as it works for you! it’s okay..No matter what you do or don’t believe in.
    Perception no one truly knows!
The thought to not exist anymore scary!
I watched a documentary about prisoners who had got the death penalty. When they had first arrived into prison, they all looked at the camera and said that they were not afraid of death! Boldly they made this statement. As time went on for some years.
Their final day had arrived. When showing them to their last minute on film. They all wur sweating profusely under the arms. Their eyes pupils wur dilated and small quick twitches of the fingers. Breathes wur fast but low pitched, showing signs of fear!

I guess death is taboo to me because of now life is all I know. I think?

They say people who are afraid to die are afraid to live. Yep that describes me in a nutshell. 🙂

    Dear who:

If you want to know how it will be after your death: see how it was before you were born: same thing.

Anita, you are right about the overthinking.
It is because the emotions were not felt and processed at the time that keeps them repressed, out of awareness, but present in the form of mind chatter. By resisting facing them, it persists. As hard as it is to acknowledge and feel the pain, it must be dealt with or you will unconsciously create more of the same as your energy will attract that same frequency., more pain…
Plus the more denied the further you are unconscious. If not spiritual, I would seek a power greater than yourself to look for strength, insight and power. Jesus had more power than everything else I tried.., best of luck

    Dear melissa:

I read your two posts of today and glad you are here, on tiny buddha. You wrote above: “emotions…repressed, but present in the form of mind chatter”- I like your description, accurate. “As hard as it is to acknowledge and feel the pain, it must be dealt with or you will unconsciously create more of the same…more pain.”- very well articulated.

In looking for a power greater than myself, I see it in nature: it existed before I was conceived and will continue to exist after I die, so it is greater than myself in terms of TIME. And then, there is healing everywhere in nature: living things, plants and animals do not have to consciously direct their healing, as in when injured, therefore I do not have to be present for every step of my own healing, nature will do most of it if I am willing and if I do my part to not reject the … natural power of healing. So healing power in nature is way, way greater than my own. I don’t think I own any healing powers myself. I can only avail myself to the healing power of nature.

    Personally, I have no use for the bible or Jesus- these are all made up concepts, written by people, etc. But I respect your choice to believe in those things. It obviously has been working for you so far. I do wish you the best and hope to see more and more posts by you{
