Hello Anita. Thank you for the advises you gave me the past few months!

Since my last post, a lot has happened. I started a new relationship with a colleague. As time passed, i decided to forgive my ex and everyone else i was involved with in the past. But, a month ago, o got an sms from my ex. It was pretty straightforward, saying “hey John, how are you? Everything ok? Wanna go out for a drink?” I asked who it was and it was my ex. I asked her if something had happened, as i was curious why she contacted me again after all these months had passed by. She told she wanted to see me but i told her that after all of the things that happened, this is so awkward and if she wanted anything she didn’t have to see me but to tell me by phone.

Anyway, long story short, i told my current gf about this and she urged me to go and meet her to see what she wanted. So, i went. She was pretty nervous at the beginning. She barely talked to me. I kept the discussion going in neutral matters. She told me she didn’t send the flowers. When we walked outside, i asked her how come she contacted me and told her that after her behavior, i erased her both as a woman and as a person. She told me she owned me the meeting(??) I also asked her why didn’t she reply to my messages and told me that he doesn’t want to remember these things, as she does not belong there any more.

I am very confused about this. From one perspective, when u meet someone from your past (especially when there were some black spots in the relationship) you expect to clarify a few things. This is what i expected, but she acted like nothing happened etc. My friends and relatives are very upset that she contacted me again after her behavior and that she is very immature.

I agreed to meet her just to give her a chance to hear her out. When i saw her, i realized i felt nothing for this girl no more. After talking to her, with no background feelings to blur my judgement, i realized that she is sentimentally immature. She does not act according to her age.

    Dear John_1:

I can see that your confusion about all matters regarding your ex is understandable- her behavior is confusing: her motivations are unclear and … well, don’t meet with her anymore. There really is no point. If anyone suggest you do so again, be it your girlfriend or anyone else, tell that person that you have no such intentions. You shouldn’t put yourself in more of the same-old-same-old confusion, lack of clarity situations. There is no reason to do that. Is there?

Of course not. This was exactly what i decided to do:) It is funny though, how things change. We mature and progress and see more clearly 🙂

    Dear John_1:

Well, it changes for some of us, seeing more clearly. Not so for all of us, as is in your ex’s case. Keep your clarity in this coming year, wishing you a clear and clearer 2017. Happy New Year!
