    Greetings to all.

Last year has been quite hard for me in all aspects. I’ve been chasing after my dreams and expectations but disappointment is the only outcome…

For example,  I’ve made some efforts during the past 2 months to further my studies at foreign Universities. I’ve taken language tests with great success, prepared personal statements, asked for reference letters but i faced closed doors concerning funding from them. It feels like all of my educational plans as well as my wish to be a scientist hit onto a wall.

I’ve also recently applied for several job vacancies but in no avail. Some of them did not even reply, others responded negatively while others turned me down after an interview.

While trying to sort things out, my economic resources are becoming more and more limited. All these resulted in drowning my self into social isolation which brings more frustration and vice versa. Finding a person to go out for a cup of coffee is now a difficult task.

Romantic encounters have also been a failure for me. A few months ago, the person i had a relationship with ended our affair explaining that we do not want the same things in life. I do not hold any hard feelings for them, as i know that I am the issue here and not them., since i cannot financially or emotionally support a relationship.

In conclusion, i am stuck in an endless circle of negative outcomes in whatever plans i have and i do not know whether to change my whole attitude (and how) or insist in my current perspective leading me into sinking my ship over and over.

I would love to hear any word of advise from all kind people in here…

    Dear Troubled_persona:

I figure that receiving funding by foreign universities is very difficult to obtain, and so is a job, lots of competition, lots of people applying for both and the result is a lot of rejection.

Maybe there is a way for you to think “outside the box”, that is, to stop operating in the same ways as before, and instead, look for a different, creative, new way to move forward in life. What do you think?

    Dear Troubled_persona:

Because it is only recently that you applied for jobs (“I’ve also recently applied for several job vacancies”), better give it more time and apply for more jobs, doing your best to present yourself well to employers.

I know very, very little about your circumstance. I don’t know if you have family around where you live, the relationships with them/ parents, I don’t know how old you are, what country you live in, if you are a high school or a university graduate, what kinds of jobs you applied for, what you wanted to study in foreign universities, etc.

    In general, I’d say:

-if your financial resources are running low, and you are paying rent living on your own, consider living with family members so to not pay rent for a while.

    – consider applying for jobs you didn’t consider before.

    – consider a short term training program that will qualify you for a job you are currently not qualified for. Maybe there is a company that will train you before employing you.

    – if the economic opportunities in the place and country where you live are poor, consider moving to a different or bigger city and/ or country.
