    Hello,

I had some issues adjusting to changes in my which led me to seek psychiatric help. I was not satisfied with the medications, so I continually asked for harder and harder medications until I was on a high dose of an MAOI/Amphetamine. I stayed on this for about 6 months. I had severe anxiety and had to withdrawal from the drugs, and I would say that it took about a month to feel stable enough to cope with life.

I believe that it is possible to heal and feel like myself again, but I was wondering if anybody else has any encouraging stories with protracted withdrawal. I have felt progress, but I remember in the early stages of withdrawal what really helped me through it was reading about people’s recoveries – it seemed to help make it more accessible to me. It has been many months and I still do not feel completely like myself (some anxiety, memory issues, ringing ears, twitching, no libido…). I have heard that withdrawal from this medication is similar to that of adderall, meth, amphetamines, and the like.

I do not wish to return to psychotropics ever again, even antidepressants.

    Hey Trevor,

That sounds really rough. I’ve never dealt with drug withdrawal, but I think if you keep going and doing what you can to deal with your anxiety and other issues in a healthy way, you will get back to yourself again. And yeah, don’t ever go back, for sure. O.o
