I’ ve been a long-time employee of a certain company and one of the few remaining workers who actually jump-started the company itself. The pay is a little low but I chose to stay becuase I’m aiming for a promotion. Although I am now considered a Senior Specialist, I still want to become a supervisor. Last week, we got an announcement that there are two openings for supervisors and that the employees are welcome to apply for the promotion. That same day I had a nasty slip and tore two ligaments on my left foot. As you know, I couldn’t make it to the interviews with our managers and now I saw an e-mail congratulating the two employees, who I mentored, and that they will start on momday as supervisors. I am geniunely happy for them as I know they deserved it howeve I can’t help but feel disappointed myself since I have been waiting for this for almost two years only to be break my leg and miss the interviews. I’ll be back to work on monday and have to cope with this disappointment and sadness as well.

    Hi Autumn1001

I am sorry for your leg injury and hope you are feeling better.

It is natural to feel disappointed when you don’t get what you wish for but sometimes, there are significant blessings hidden in these disappointing acts of life. I feel you should cheer up and thank Universe for granting you this disappointment. In due time, the blessings will become obvious if you keep a positive attitude of gratitude.

Say Yes to the Universe. Welcome everything, which comes into your life esp when you do not have control over these situations. You can handle it all.

Get well soon matey and cheer up with a big smile.

Thank you @Jasmine-3. This made me feel a lot better. Always look for the ‘silver lining’ as they say. Thank you so much!

I also think it’s a little coincidental that you just happen to break your leg on the very day of the interviews!! Maybe subconsciously you put so much energy into The Promotion that you couldn’t handle it and overwhelmed yourself to protect yourself from potential disappointment? Legs are symbolic of support ~ maybe you didn’t feel supported?? Don’t mean to go all Louise Hayes on you LOL. But something to think about.
