I’m a big fan of using coconut oil on skin, in cooking, and also for “oil pulling” – where you swish it around your mouth for ten minutes or so and it pulls out bacteria and plaque. There’s now many studies that show it can significantly improve your dental health..

Does anyone else use oils on skin?

I think the paleo diet is just a “sexy” word for eating whole natural foods, rather than food-like-products that don’t naturally exist. And of course if we eat this way, we will be healthier (and lose weight)!

My problem with the paleo diet is that historically the term is very inaccurate and misleading. There’s a nice Tedx talk on it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMOjVYgYaG8

Also the restrictions placed on non-paleo foods is confusing. For example rice is forbidden. Yet the people that live the longest, healthiest lives – from Okinawa in Japan – have a diet that is more than 70% rice (white). Plus some vegetables and some meat once in a while. They are living the longest.

How does that work if rice is so bad for you?
