Good point ladies…it’s amazing to write in the light. I love when the sunshine streams in.
Sheila McCannParticipant@Guy : )
Sheila McCannParticipantYes, loved London as well! Would love to get to Vancouver some day…gorgeous place. Feeling is key…San Francisco was that made me feel wonderful.
Sheila McCannParticipantOoh, what a great conversation!
I am most likely to slip into a trance state while writing ( this produces the best writing because it flows out from the subconscious)
Although I’ve never really pushed the envelope with this and often wondered how deep that rabbit hole goes…
Sheila McCannParticipantHi Katie and Lori,
I’m familiar with autoimmune diseases. My mom has parkinsons and has been a challenge for her and my family. My daughter has food allergies which falls under the umbrella term autoimmunity. I wish I could say that people are always sensitive to their struggles but that is not always the case. Developing a thick skin, positivity, support where you can find it and self love are a must. Get through the tough days and embrace the good days. Support where you can find it is key. Take care : )
Sheila McCannParticipantThe habit that has worked for me by far is to eat food that is real. Easy.
My plate should look like I live on a farm from 100 years ago. Easy.
My plate should also have about 80% plant foods and 20% protein (my first choice is fish then chicken or meat)
Easy again.
Now when I eat something that is overly processed I feel sick.
My kids got used to eating this way and always want there protein over shredded carrots, broccoli slaw or romaine lettuce.
They will complain that something tastes too fake if they eat some snack food or cereal etc. other than one from trader joes.
*I do enjoy treats on occasion and have a small piece of dark chocolate.
Sheila McCannParticipantHi Maia,
I’m just starting out so looking to hear what tips are posted here. Congrats on your 5 years : )
Cheers!

Thank you for your thorough answer. My experience has been similar. It’s kind of like being an observer of events, thoughts and reactions. They happen and you observe but don’t judge or label. You engage with the external happenings in a constructive fashion but you are not attached to them, you are separate. The meditation practice is the tool that enables you to do this.
No doubt your dedication (2 hours) has enabled you to have a very powerful mindset. I find that if I don’t practice regularly, I will not mange my thinking as effectively.
Fascinating!
Namaste,
Sheila

Wow! That’s a lot of meditating.
I’m a huge fan of meditation and credit it as one of the keys to well being. I am also very curious as to others’ experiences with meditation.
What would you say is the main shift that has taken place in your thinking as a result of meditating ?
Sheila McCannParticipantYes. It is what is left when you remove all the other junk : )
Sheila McCannParticipantgood conversation at Tiny Buddha
sunshine streaming in my window
green tea – lots and lots of green tea
music – lots and lots of music
Sheila McCannParticipantI’m not sure I can answer that question but I know that some of the most powerful things I’ve experienced are of an abstract nature. ie love Our scope is so limited it would seem difficult to believe that this is the end all.
Sheila McCannParticipantI can’t think of a more evolved philosophy Joseph : )
