Sometimes, people suffering push others away because we feel it will save the other person a ton of grief or pain. Sometimes, we feel underserving. Sometimes, we are so used to being left stranded alone that we get rid of you before you get rid of us, even though we don’t want to.
You will have to respect her wishes, but maybe this will help you understand. She seems desperately in need of therapy, seems like she has some healing to do. Therapy is not a negative or shameful thing. I’m in therapy now. Sometimes, we think we can fix it on our own. Sometimes, we aren’t ready. Sometimes, we are scared or don’t have the finances. Sometimes, we just need someone who loves us to help show us the way.
