We live in the materialistic world and it’s seems that material achievements are the only thing to strive for. Once we achieved what seemed was supposed to make us happy, such as successful career, house, car, family, what is next thing that we think we should strive for? At 50, the children are more or less independent and we have more time for ourselves. Then we notice that the void that we feel inside can not be filled with superficial things. The void is not fillable with material achievements. Material achievements and impermanent, they are the tools to be used for our inner achievements, our own development. What is what this void inside us desires? That only can be found in stillness and looking inward rather than outward. Outside world can’t deliver it, it’s inside.
