    Hi Everyone,
does anyone have any advice for me on how to cope emotionally with chronic pain? I find it wears me down to the bottom rung of the ladder physically and mentally, and am losing hope of finding a way to cope, as have tried diet, exercise (including Yoga), medication, but don’t want to be on pain killers everyday….. I have also tried listening to relaxation CD’s…Distraction, etc.
    Exhausted ….Sarah-Jane

    Hi Again!

Please disregard if you’ve already done these. If you haven’t, do them immediately and I’m sure you’ll see a difference.

    1. Talk to someone who specializes in Pain Management. Call you local hospital, go online, they are out there.

    2. Go on a Paleo/Raw Food diet. Whenever I feel achy or sicky (I’m NOT comparing my issues to the hell you’ve gone through!!) I eat Paleo or do juicing for a few days/weeks/months and reset.

    3. Set yourself up to have a lot of “Wins”. Get a sticker book and give yourself a sticker like a kid for any minuscule thing you do. Returning a phone call = a win. Putting a load of laundery in = a win. But it has to be miniscule!

    4. Pick a series on Netflix and watch all of it in one sitting/s. Get so immersed in the characters you forget yourself.

    5. A lot of churches have lay ministers. Ask for Stephen Ministers. They meet up with you every week just to talk. They are trained. Or get yourself on a Prayer List! It is amazing how situations transform when everyone is praying!

    Hi @sunflower Sarah Jane

I am so sorry for your suffering. I am sending you heaps of positive energy and hope your path ahead will be illuminated and you will receive all the help you need to lessen this suffering.

Attached is a link of a youtube video on pain. It will come handy for you as it explains the true nature of pain in scientific terms.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWMKucuejIs

Please note that at higher consciousness, chronic pain signifies that something in life is not working right or you are not going in the right direction for where you chose yourself to be before taking birth. Could you please do some reflection and see if you have any unresolved issues from childhood or with your close relationships ? Perhaps, a session with a good hypnotherapist or an energy healer might help to bring those unresolved issues to the shore and help you work through them. Everyones mission in this life is to become unconditional love. We love ourselves as we are and we love others as they are.

Best wishes and may you get the strength to find YOU and love yourself the way you are.

    Jasmine

    Hi.
I myself struggle from the same problem. Sometimes the pain is so severe that I get anxiety. The worst part is when the pain sets in my head and gives me enormously headaches and migraines. Where does your pain appear? I also have a lot of pain in the left side of my stomach, underneath the ribs and my left knee and arm. The left side of my body tends to be very weak. The reason why I wanted to reply was to ask if you know why the pain appears? I have found out in the later years that my pain is actually chronic mercury poisoning (from vaccine and amalgam fillings). Many people I know suffers from pain due to toxins in the body, especially mercury. Fluoride also can give very stiff and painful joints. And these toxins give a lot of symptoms/illness in the body (including anxiety, depression, foggy thinking, pain, Fibromyalgia, ME and other serious diseases)
I also do not want to take medication, but I have to on the worst days. I try to walk/move/stretch as much as I can, though it is very hard, because the pain often paralyzes me. I also try to get enough rest and sleep and meditate. I know that pain is caused when the brain picks up “error signals” from the central nervous system (“something is wrong here!”, it shouts to the brain). I also try to self heal my body, by sending “light into the dark areas”. I really wish you all the best and hope that everything will work out to the best for you.

    Thanks Kaya77 @kaya77

I am sorry to hear about your suffering. Are you holding a lot of anger or resentment within you by any chance ?

Have you tried chakra healing ? Can I recommend the you tube below for 7 days for 11 mins a day. See if it makes a difference. All you need to do is close your eyes and listen to the sounds.

    Thanks

Thank you for your concern, Jasmine.
Yes, I have tried several types of healing. The only thing I know is that it takes time with this toxin. There is a lot of things going on in my body during detox, and this is what causes so much pain, both physically and mentally. This is very old “energy” that needs to get out. I do have some anger and very much frustration, but the worst is the stored-up anxiety and panic. I really wish the anxiety would turn into anger, so I could shake it off more easily. Sometimes it does turn into anger and I punch the sofa and go crazy for a while and feel better afterwards. It is easier for me to be angry than anxious. My main problem is stored-up mercury in the joints and muscles in the spine/upper back, between the shoulder blades and out on the left side.
I will try to listen to the video and see how I react.
Thank you so much for the support <3

    Hi Inky,
thanks for your reply, and sorry for my late response……has been a rough week! In our country you can only see someone at the pain clinic if you are referred there by your General Practioner, (unless you can afford to pay privately, and this costs a small fortune!). I did see a consultant at a pain clinic years ago, it was one of the worst experiences I have had with medical staff in my life. After waiting fourteen months just to see him, and filling out two very long questionairres, as I walked into his room he was very abrupt to the point of being rude and said that he wouldn’t prescribe morphine for me, which I definitely didn’t want anyway? I had had to have it in hospital on a few occasions and it always made me very sick, so I definitely did not want to be on that on a regular basis. I tried to explain to him about my situation and he wasn’t even listening and was talking over me all of the time!!! To cut a long story short I ended up in floods of tears after the appt, and with no help after the very long wait! As far as giving myself stickers for little achievements, I do actually have the opposite problem, as I think I can still do everything I always did and make myself worse trying to do it all. I never want to stop until I have done everything that needs doing, and then of course I pay the price for it. I haven’t tried any special diets as I wasn’t aware of any for this particular kind of problem, other than eating healthily and exercising regularly? I am not sure what ‘Stephen ministers’ are? Which country are these in? One of the most difficult things is trying to hide what is wrong from colleagues and friends or family, so as not to sound as though I am constantly grumbling about pain or health issues, but at the same time not wanting to lie to them. As far as films go, I am unable to concentrate on them due to the pain and fatigue, and the same with books too, which is oh so frustrating as I can never remember the details of what I have read, and sometimes even the basics of it.
Many thanks for your kindness and support
    Sarah-Jane 🙂

    Hi Kaya,
thanks for your response, it was good of you to take the time to write, when you are suffering yourself! My pain is widespread throughout most of my body, as I suffer from Fibromyalgia Syndrome and also from Osteoarthritis, as well as Interstital Cystitis or Painful Bladder Syndrome, which is excruciatingly painful to the point of not being able to stand up or sit at times. I feel I am in a vicious circle of trying to avoid having pain killers and then getting in too much pain and having to have them, or having to have stronger ones. It is pretty awful trying to function at work feeling dreadful all of the time with the pain and with re-current infections too!!! I find it very difficult to sleep properly too because of feeling ill, or being in pain. It is funny you should mention about the Amalgam fillings, as I have just had one replaced, and only have two of them left in my mouth which I am planning to have replaced in the next two weeks, so it will be interesting to see if anything changes after that! I also suffer from chronic daily headaches and frequent migraines despite being on migraine prevention medication. I do try to help myself as much as possible, but am stuck in this cycle of pain and illness from which there doesn’t seem to be any escape, despite all of my best efforts!!! I really hope that you have more better days, and less worse days asap.
Best wishes for good health and less pain!
    Sarah-Jane 🙂

    Hi Jasmine,
thank you for your response. I will try the medication, and I think as it has the music element to it it will help me to focus more. I do not hold anger and resentment, as easily forgive people, except for myself I suppose! That realization has only just come to me as I have been writing this!! I very rarely, if ever, feel angry, but am more likely to take things inwardly and be very upset and cry. It is funny in a way that I am always very shocked if people treat me badly, as I always treat others the way I would like to be treated.

    Thanks for your advice

    hi Sarah Jane @sunflower

The earlier you tube on 3rd Chakra was for Kaya77.

I recommend the following videos for you and see if they work. First one is for 2nd Chakra and the next one is for heart chakra.

Let us know how you go. I feel a lot of your symptoms and pain is related to lack of self-belief and self-love….and both above videos will help to balance the chakras out 🙂 It will need to become a daily practice if they work.

    Hi Jasmine,
thank you for your message. I haven’t been on Tiny Buddha lately as have been ill, and have had lots of hospital stuff going on too…..just spent half a day at one hospital miles away, and then the other half of the day at a different one, and was at another different one, more local, yesterday! But will be at work part time tomorrow, pasting on the smile and pretending all is honky dorey :-), of course. I have tried the meditation, but didn’t feel any benefit at all yet? I have also tried relaxation tapes, and Yoga. The Yoga is a distraction as I have to concentrate on what I need to do, but that’s as far as it goes really.

    Thanks again for your message
    Sarah-Jane
