How do I get over the fright? I also suffer from extreme fear of public speaking

    Dear SantaFe:

Fear is a tough thing to overcome, like you wrote, it does make us freeze, makes our brain stop  working. How do we get over the fight? Taking on the long process it takes.

The process involves insight into the origin of the fright, usually in childhood. It involves learning and practicing skills to reduce the fear, such as mindfulness. It takes some sort of social support, someone in your corner.

    Dear SantaFe,

For specific situations prepare, prepare well and rehearse. Play the speech in your mind multiple times.

Fear of being ridiculed arises when you think low of yourself and you believe the people who are ridiculing you. Increase your feelings of self worth and don’t let others determine your worth.

Just do it. Start by answering a simple question in class. Slowly, you will build self-confidence and become more and more comfortable to speak in public. Try and let me know how you felt after.
