Hi all. I have a dog that I walk every night, and have walked every night for the past 7 years. In the spring of 2013 he got attacked by an off-leash dog and was injured. I was shaken but didn’t let it overwhelm me and we continued walking nightly until about 2 months later when he was attacked again by another dog closer to our home. Now I feel trapped. There is nowhere safe to walk where I live and even taking him to places I know have been safe in the past I find myself completely tense, on the lookout for an off-leash dog that is surely going to get him again. I really need to move past this but it seems to be getting worse. I have tried reminding myself that these were two isolated incidents and after 7 years being attacked twice are pretty good odds. However, the mounting fear and anxiety is weighing on me.
    Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Hi Marie Butler,

Really sorry to hear what has happened.

Is there anyway you can walk with someone else and their dog?
