I felt that my inner child was distant and unwilling to talk to me. Why is that?

Hey Guys! How are you doing?

This is the first time, I imagined myself trying to talk to my inner child. It wasn’t that she was shy. Since we were on a green hill on a bright sunny afternoon, she seemed really anxious in my lap. She kept turning around even when I held and talked to her.

In reality, I don’t really get along with kids either. I don’t dislike them but yeah I do feel sorry for them.

If anyone can explain this that would be awesome! 🙂 Thanks.

    Dear Hey Its Jess:

“she (your inner child) seemed really anxious in my lap. She kept turning around even when I held and talked to her”-

she used to “always  run and try to stop them from hurting each other… my hands start to shake in these intense moments… I find it hard to calm down. I hope this gets better with time”, you shared April  this year. A courageous little girl, running to stop abuse around her, protect those she loved. What a courageous little girl. Aren’t you in awe of her courage, once you think of it?

    Hey Anita!

Haha yeah she is courageous in those intense moments. But I remember being really scared and quiet as a child. I used to feel out of place and inferior to others. I have come a long way from there but sometimes these feelings do rise up.

Inner child work suggests conversing and playing with your child self so I was thinking about doing that…maybe on a weekly basis.

    Dear Hey Its Jess:

Excellent plan, do play with her and tell her how courageous she was, and still is. tell her it is okay to be quiet and scared, that you understand, and that you will hold her hand  from now on, so she is no longer alone, that you will attend to her every day. And that if you forget to attend to her, if you don’t pay attention, tell her to talk to you, to ask for your attention.
