    I have a dog his has always been there with me he gives me  comfort and protection but is old and suffering just like me maybe even more than I know. My mom just told me today that we are going to put him down tomorrow…………………………………… and I don’t know what to do when he is gone…………………… he and I are the only ones in the family suffering and now I will be the only one.

    I am sorry you are losing your dearest companion Alissa.  Do you have any friends or family you can reach out to?

    I’m almost 16, I have adult friends and family but they never seem to understand me.

    I am sorry you don’t have anyone that understands you.  No friends to talk to?

    Sometimes if you really need to talk to someone, a person at the vet may be able to hold your hand and be with your grief?

    but the vet is coming over to our house because my dog can hardly walk and I don’t think she will be-able to help me very much.

    Alissa,

    I know the people at my vet’s place are very kind and caring.  They may not be able to stay long with you but it cannot hurt to ask them to hold you hand for a bit and give you some comfort.  You may want to ask her if she have any suggestions on how you can get through this.  There is a pet hospital here that has a pet grieving support group.  You might want to check into that as well.

    Don’t have a vet, my dog have never been to one neither have I. We just called  a vet through one of our friends.

    I still would reach out to the vet even though s/he is not your dog’s vet and that you don’t know him/her.

    They are use to dealing with grieving pet owners.  S/he might be a good resource in addition to the others I suggested.
