    Dear all,

I am so glad to have found this forum, to provide me a more holistic/spiritual perspective on my situation.
I will try to be concise with my story, and thank you for your time.

As my topic title indicates – I have an exhausting history of jobhopping. At the moment I am 32, and 7 years graduated from Art school.
Since graduating I have been staying at jobs for approximately 1 – 1,5 years. In my professional career I have not succeeded to stay longer at a job, in order for me to grow in responsibility & trust from my superiors. So as you can imagine – I am very very dissapointed with my current careerpath. The whole issue with every job, is that it’s starts well; both party seems to be keen to work it out, but at some point the relationship damages and I leave the job.

It seems a destructive and unhealthy pattern of me, I am very sensitive and can pick up people’s energy/intention. At this moment the same pattern is being played out again: I started well at a company to cover a lady’s maternity leave. During her leave I was given the responsibility she had. Since 2 months she is back, and the dynamics have changed. I no longer have responsiblity and have become her junior. I am being secluded from strategic thinking/meeting/planning, only to be involved when there is execution involved.

I have brought up this issue a few times, but they consider it me being overly sensitive ‘and it’s not ‘PERSONAL’. Due to a miscommunication one of the owners of the company start to dislike me, and he is the main source of seclusion. The other boss seems to play fair.

I am getting more and more depressed every day, and I feel stuck and blocked. I also don’t think this relationship can be repaired.
So for now I am waiting to collect more courage to find a new job.

The reason of me sharing this is I wanted to know if people have experienced this feeling of ‘being put off/aside’? It makes you feel so minor.

    Thank you,

    Nicky

    Good Morning Nicky,
Your story spoke to me as I was in similar situations before. Some of the details you provided – that you went to Art School, that you’re a sensitive soul, that you feel insecure and uncertain about where you are, make me wonder if you’re an older soul, and maybe I could even venture to guess that you’re a Chrysalis soul.

If you’re curious to find out more, do check out my free 3P Quiz on my website (the URL is on my profile if you click on my picture).

If you can see your life as a journey, this is the time in your life where you start noticing the cracks – the gaps between what your soul intended for your life, versus what the world (in your case, your company) says you must do / say / be. Your journey of your soul involves bridging that gap.

May you walk your path with Peace, Presence and Purpose!
    Namaste, Saiisha

    Dear Nicky:

You wrote: “I am very sensitive and can pick up people’s energy/intention.” And later: “they consider it me being overly sensitive ‘and it’s not ‘PERSONAL’” I am thinking, this sensitivity to pick up people’s energy or intention could be hyper vigilance to detect disrespect of you, people not valuing you- it could be that you misread people’s minds and hearts/ their energy, as you put it. It may be that you are inclined to think certain ways that are not true. And as you go from job to job, people change but in your mind they all think the same, that you are not good enough- because it is what you think. You think it and project it into others. Everyone does it, projecting into others. What we project- that is the question. Is it realistic, is it true?

Before people who are astute enough learn what it is that you think about you (not good enough, not reliable for planning tasks, let’s say), what is it that you think?

    Hi Nicky,

Do you not practice art anymore?

My feeling, as I am an artist too, is that if you must take a full time office job or something then it’s best to have the mindset that that job is funding your art. Now if you don’t create anymore, maybe that’s the issue. I’ve had several jobs too, but I always saw them as paying for my living so I could create. That way, work bs is never really that serious, you know?

Also, when you’re pursuing what you’re meant to be doing, the right opportunities will come to you. Maybe shift your energy a bit. Create. Try not to get wrapped in the day to day. And most of all, don’t be so hard on yourself. You’re doing the best you can.

    Take care
    Pink:)

I relate to the jobhopping part definitely as I am one of the worst.
I have a terrible track record and as I see it , these are the reasons for the pattern I have sreated:

    – I’m impatient to feel happy, loved and appreciated in the workplace.
    – I want the job to challenge me just enough to avoid boredom. Not too challenging please!
    – I want the job to have some status so I am not embarassed to tell friends what it is.
-I want at least one really good friend I can connect with there so I have an alliance should harassment occur.
    – I want to be liked by the boss. Worshipped would be a real bonus!
-Enough pay so I can save enough money for a good overseas holiday every year.
    – Opportunities for a career path/promotion would be nice even if I don’t take them.

Oh also I want the workplace to be completely harassment free, which from experience doesn’t exist.
