Hi everyone, my name is Crol. I’m a mother who wants to build a better future for myself and my 9-year-old son. I spent 10 years as a stay-at-home mom, and after the heartbreaking loss of my child, I’m now working toward finding a more stable and fulfilling career.

At the moment, my job helps cover our basic expenses, but I’d love to earn enough to give us a better quality of life. I want my son to have opportunities to participate in sports and other activities, and I want us both to enjoy life without constantly worrying about money.

Working from home would be ideal because my son attends school from 9 a.m. to 2:05 p.m. I’ve been applying for remote positions, but I often run into barriers, such as not having the required qualifications or equipment.

I’m here because I could really use some encouragement, advice, and guidance. I didn’t always have the support I needed growing up, but becoming a parent has taught me that it’s okay to ask for help.

I’m open to suggestions about remote jobs, training programs, or other ways to improve my situation. I don’t want to feel stuck anymore; I want to keep moving forward and create a brighter future for my family.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Any advice or support would mean a lot to me.

Hi Crol, welcome to the tiny buddha forums 🌷

First, I want to say how sorry I am for the loss you mentioned.

At the same time, what stands out most in your post is your strength and determination to keep moving forward for yourself and your son.

It sounds like you already accomplished a lot. After spending ten years as a stay-at-home mom, you’re working, covering your basic expenses, caring for your son, and actively looking for ways to build a better future. Those are not small things.

I also admire your willingness to ask for help. Many of us grow up feeling like we have to handle everything on our own. But reaching out for support is actually a sign of courage, not weakness.

I don’t have specific career advice to offer right now, but I do want to encourage you not to underestimate the skills you developed over the years.

Raising a child, managing a household, solving problems, organizing schedules, and adapting to difficult circumstances all require real abilities and resilience.

Your goals sound thoughtful and realistic. Wanting financial stability, opportunities for your son, and a little more peace of mind is something I’m sure many parents can relate to. I hope you’ll find both practical suggestions and encouragement here, and I wish you and your son the very best as you continue moving forward.

    I’m glad you introduced yourself.

Please tell us more (It’s late Fri night here, and I would like to get back 2 u Sat morning).

    Anita
