    Hi all!

I have gone back to college after summer break and moved into a new apartment. I absolutely struggled to sleep for the first two weeks in my new place. I was desperate for sleep, but just kept tossing and turning all night long.

I have always been one to think meditation wasn’t for me. But as I lied in bed wide awake in the wee hours of the morning, I was so frustrated I decided to try it. I hopped on YouTube and searched “guided meditation”. There are loads of videos to choose from, each with its on unique emphasis. Meditation for sleep, anxiety, depression, confidence– even meditation for meeting your spirit guide. The first one I listened to was simple meditation for sleep. I made it roughly 20 minutes into the video before I slept. I woke up so thankful I had found the answer to my sleeping problem! I continued to do guided meditations every night, and most nights they would lead me to sleep. A secondary effect of the meditation is an overall healthier mind… I’m generally not an anxious or depressed person, but the meditation has even lessened their effects.

If you are looking for some nice videos, I was fond of Jason Stephenson and Michael Sealey’s videos, something about their voices is so soothing. They are something of kings of guided meditations on YouTube.

Have you tried meditation or self-hypnosis? What was your primary goal– sleep, anxiety relief, confidence boost, etc? Was it guided or did you lead yourself? Any recommendations for videos online?

Have you met your spirit guide? Tell me about it and how you accomplished meeting them, I would love to know. I have tried a couple of times but have not had any luck. I used this video, which I liked because the speaker really guides you and makes you feel comfortable, but I don’t think my mind is ready to meet them yet. I was almost nervous! I think I need more practice.
