quick question…if the Buddha was against sex or sexual desire, wouldn’t the human race come to a pretty abrupt end?

Dear Joseph:

No. If buddha or any other person said: people, no more sex! I forbid sex!

There would still be plenty of sex and plenty of babies.

Joseph, as far as I know, in Budhism, sex is prohibited for people leading the monastic life and not lay people.

Hi Joseph,

I’ve never read or heard that in black and white terms. And if it’s only true for the monastic life, remember! People usually have full lives before they make the decision to enter a monastery! Not everyone on the planet becomes a monk!
