    Ah, Jack: whatever you do tonight, please do not, and I repeat, please do not let Pious Pete in, no matter how loud or how quietly consistent he is knocking on your chamber door. Like in The Raven by Poe, do not let him in. Forever more.

    Pious is Pete is easily shamed, easily embarrassed, easily made to feel guilty. Guilt-ridden Graham is another character I haven’t introduced you to. He is good friends of Pious Pete and Ruminator Ron. Guilt-ridden Graham, likes to take nostalgia trips with Ron, only dwelling on the events, where Jack didn’t try hard enough, gave in too easily or treated other people with contempt.

    Dear Guilt-ridden Graham:

    Nice to make your acquaintance. Why don’t you and your friends Ron and Pete, that is Graham, Ron and Pete go away for Christmas to the Northern Hemisphere were it is winter on Christmas day like it is supposed to be and stay there? If Jack agrees of course.
