Hello,
This is going to be very difficult for me to write. A) Because im not a very good writter and B) Ive never told anyone these things let alone a group of strangers on the internet lol I read the topic and became compelled to “share my truth”.
I somewhat pride myself on being very self-aware of my emotions and i often reflect and analyze my thoughts and actions. The truth is, frankly, im a mess. I feel stuck at a job i cannot stand, im up to my eyeballs in debt, i feel i have no direction to really rectify these first two problems. I feel that way because im full of self-doubt, fear of failure/fear of success, self-limiting beliefs, fear of change, and a general lack of trust that im good enough for anything more. This leads me spiraling into an uncomfortable place of wanting to be motivated to change but ultimately coming back to a feeling of unworthiness.
Ive also started to develop body image issues. This has really taken its toll on me. All of these feelings and thoughts started about a year ago. Now, i workout 5 days a week, i eat healthy and i take my vitamins and supplements. Not to brag, but ive been told by numerous males and sexual partners that i have an amazing body. I guess i just dont see it that way. Sometimes ill look in the mirror and be disgusted. It hurts. It hurts my self-esteem, confidence, and over-all self-worth.
With that said, i do know some truths about myself that are good; im kind to others, compassionate to humans and animals, im a good friend, boyfriend, and brother. Im relatively smart, intelligent both mentally and emotionally. I like to make others laugh and feel good.
Anyway, thanks for reading lol

“I feel stuck at a job I cannot stand, I’m up to my eyeballs in debt”- come up with a plan of action, when you are calm, a … scientific plan of action to solve these two problems. Without a plan of action, you feel powerless, having no control over your life and that is very distressing. With a plan of action, you are creating the beginning of enforcing some control over your life. That will be a beginning.

Thank you for the advice. This was very therapeutic for me to get off of my chest and clear my mind a little. Ive been procrastinating with coming up with a plan of action to take control. Any thoughts on where i can start?

Not sure how to approach your post – change is an inevitable part of life. From the moment we are born, change happens. It’s a bit worrying that you have such a negative body image coupled with feelings of being unworthy. You describe yourself as being a mess, in a job you can’t stand and in debt.
Perhaps you can start by being more positive. What would you like to take up as an occupation and what skills would you need for that? Do you need to remain in your current job whilst you undergo some form of retraining? Work takes up a huge percentage of our lives so you may as well do something that you enjoy. Do you agree with this statement? What are you or can you do to actively reduce your debt? Do you need to rethink your spending habits?
I hope you can give some thought as to what your passions are and where these may take you jobwise.

I didn’t realize you replied to me two days ago until just now (your name probably didn’t reflect under topics when you submitted). To come up with a plan of action, can you add any details relevant to such plan. I will read and reply in about 14 hours from now.

You wrote this: “I’m a mess. I feel stuck at a job I cannot stand, I’m up to my eyeballs in debt, I feel I have no direction to really rectify these first two problems”. I suggested that you come up with a plan of action to rectify these two problems, and you asked me if I have any ideas regarding such a plan.
My answer:
1. Make an appointment with a professional financial consultant who will sit with you, having the numbers in front of him or her, that is, your financial papers and documents, and have him draw a plan of action with you.
2. Consider getting another job, updating your resume (or whatever it is currently called) and spend 30 min- an hour every day doing work toward the aim of getting a different job that will be way less unpleasant and more suited for you.
