    Hi everyone,

This might seem like a strange question but I am tired of analysing it and would like fresh insights.

When I think of a particular situation/person and I get this feeling which I am unable to understand what is it. There is a spider web like thing from the centre of my chest going towards my palms. A cold wave of something from my chest to the arms hands palms and fingers throughout. It is not a good feeling.

It is not fear as fear will be the whole body reaction. It is not anxiety as the pit of the stomach and feet are ok. I tried to think and came up with nothing. Online is all heart attack and what not which is not true.

any inputs on what is this cold, undesirable feeling? I don’t like it and till I don’t know what is it I am unable to address it.

    thanks!

    Hi Littered,

Could the feeling be… dread? Confliction?

Wow, that doesn’t sound good, I would advise leaving the situation/person well enough alone!

    Best,

    Dear Littlered:

I remember having this particular sensation a few years ago, repeatedly. Not looking at your description at the moment, I will try to remember it and describe it as I felt it: it was a cold, cold feeling inside my chest, like an iceberg. very cold. and then, like an electric current, it ran from that cold center in the chest to my arms. As it did, it was still cold in my chest, and the electric current feeling of it moving to my arms kept going and going.

This was an anxiety experience to me. At the time it was a new experience (I don’t remember feeling this before and I no longer do). It may be in your case as well. Just because you felt anxiety in the past a particular way, does not mean that… anxiety is out of new ideas for ways to express itself.
