    Hi Guys and gals,

So, I thought something to share with those who are going through difficult times and give some insight to a bigger picture. I am not an expert in this but it does help me alot at times.

We all think that its in our hands, right? But only part of it we can control. I am talking about life. Life has and always will be out of our hands, in other words not in control. As things continue to evolve or unfold, it reveals. However, we are so absorbed in our worry, anxiety, fear, pain etc. that we add more to our suffering.

My life in 2016 has changed immensely. The girl that I loved dearly, left me. The job that was relaxing and fun, become stressful. And my workplace which was doing so well in 2015, is struggling in 2016 with unpredictable future. So, I did what we all usually do…….holding onto things, worrying about things, and rejecting the present.

I tried really hard to change things, which we all should do. However, it was coming out from fear, from uncertainty. Guess what, I made my present as a jail. And when all my attempts didn’t go the way I want them to go, I started despairing. Then, came some Buddhist wisdom and acceptance. So, here I am, with no love life, no certainty for my job, definitely no idea about future, traveling to Scandinavia all alone ( in freezing weather) on this Mon for 6 weeks, spending most of my savings.

If it doesn’t make any sense, you are not alone. Life continues to unfold, what you think now is bad or terrible, you really do not know. If you can do something about it, you give it everything you got. But after all your attempts, life doesn’t change or there’s no way you can fix things, you let it be and enjoy your life. Because, life is out of control, so why not, just relax and enjoy. And things change always with time ( read my story). But until then you accept your present fully and make it your home instead of your jail.

If you understand this you can solve any problem in your life and be at peace, right know, midst your all problems. You will never ease your suffering by asking why is this way? How can this be? Its unfair this way?

You can give the best gift to yourself this Christmas, just by being with what it is. Make your present as your christmas present. Don’t run now.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. I will reply them before Monday.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you.

    Hi Anita,

I’ve always wanted to see Europe, in particular Scandinavia. I don’t know anyone, I used to, but not anymore. I want to discover world and learn about life. Scandinavia is just a start. I am thrilled as well as nervous.

    Dear Brav3:

Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark- these are all the Scandinavian countries, I believe. Cold and snowy- I was in Norway in November myself, years ago, and took a fairy from there to Denmark. Is it an impulsive trip? Plan and prepare the best you can. Winter is not the tourist season in Scandinavia. Greece and Italy, Spain have a warmer weather in the winter. Scandinavia would be excellent in the summer.

    Anita,

No its not impulsive trip. I have been thinking and preparing for it. Yes, the whole reason is to see snow and play with huskies. I am planning to come down South and stay in Germany for some time.

    Dear Brav3:

You will have lots of snow to play with. Switzerland, don’t forget to visit there as well. France, Netherlands… oh, I get excited thinking about these places. I was born in a hot and humid country so northern and western Europe, for their climate, the woods, green/ snow, the grey skies were always fascinating to me. I still don’t like the hot sun and the beach. I like what is opposite to where I lived. what an adventure!

    Hi Brav3,

All of what you said is absolutely true, and that’s what we can do in times of problems.
Who else could we learn about Presence other than the core teachings of Eckhart Tolle, who says….

    When in trouble,
    – see if it is possible to remove yourself from the situation
    – if not see if there is something that you can do to change the situation
    – or else accept it (surrender to it) by becoming fully present to it
    All else is madness.

Take care and have a wonderful trip.

    Regards,
    VJ

Scandinavia is mostly civilized 🙂 IIRC, it has some of the top rankings for “best places to live.” Just expensive to live there…
