Hello everybody,
Lately I’am being very anxious. I have 2 friends, whom I love and care about and they love me and care about me as well. But everytime I’m with them I experience an extreme fear that I may disappoint them, betray and backstab them, even if I would never do that. I have never done something like this, my entire life. Even when I think a critical thought about them I experience immense guilty and I feel like that know what I’m thinking. I keep having this intrusive thoughts that may friends will not accept me anymore, even if I’ve done nothing wrong. This whole situation makes me so anxious. I try to be mindful and not believe this thoughts but it’s very hard. I fear that this thoughts may manifest through the law of attraction and that makes me more and more anxious.
Does anybody has an idea why is this happening to me? Can those terrible thoughts be manifested and how to stop them?
I would deeply appreciate your answers and wisdom. Thank you very very much!- This topic was modified 7 years, 11 months ago by Blue Soul.

No, I don’t believe these thoughts can be manifested via the law of attraction or any such thing. Your thoughts are mental events that happen in the short distance between your ears. And just like you can’t SEE or HEAR other people’s thoughts, they can’t see yours. Look at people around you, they think a lot too, all the time and yet, you see nothing. Unless they tell you, you don’t know what they are thinking. You are protected in the same way- no one can read your mind. What you think is your private business.
As far as why you are thinking these thoughts- I will ask you a question in my effort to find the reason: did or do you have thoughts about any of your parents (or both)- thoughts that alarmed you, that you thought were totally wrong and were terrified about them finding out (for example: I really don’t like my mother, how gross she is! Or I wish my father will die – these are nothing but examples)?

Thank you very much for your answer. As far as I remember I used to have these kind of thoughts about my mother when I was a child, everytime she was overcritical. I used to think that she is mean and doesn’t love me.

And when you had thoughts like this about your mother, that she is mean, did you tell her that she is mean, or did you keep the thought inside you?

January 17, 2017 at 12:21 pm #125578Blue SoulParticipantNo I’ve never told her. I hate conflicts and I try to avoid them, I never tell people that what they are doing is not right and it’s hurting me. I’ve never done that with my parents or my friends.
January 17, 2017 at 12:32 pm #125579AnonymousGuestDear bluesoul:
When you keep these thoughts to yourself, it is not only thoughts you are keeping inside you, but also the fear, the hurt and the anger that are attached to these thoughts. These feelings don’t stay inside though, they don’t stay hidden. Your fear doesn’t go away, neither does the hurt or the anger.
If you do share your thoughts and the feelings that go with those thoughts, with safe people, people who will understand and be kind to you, then you will release those bottled-in feelings, and you will no longer be scared of them.
It is not your thoughts that have power to make things happen, it is your feelings attached to those thoughts that feel powerful. Competent psychotherapy with a safe, empathetic, kind therapist will be the best place for you to share your thoughts and feelings and release the power they have over you.

anitaJanuary 17, 2017 at 1:34 pm #125585PeterParticipantThese type of thoughts gain a hold of us the more we judge and measure them. i.e I’m a bad person for having these thoughts. It is the labels and judgement that give the thoughts their power (and vibration)
Have you tried the practice of mindful awareness?
In this practice you don’t pretend that you don’t have them nor do you set yourself up for battle when you have them. Instead you allow yourself to notice the thoughts without judgment or measurement. Hello again thoughts… I’m going to move on nowThere may be a time where you might spend time to reflect on why such thoughts arise but if you do again try not to judge or label yourself for having them.
The law of attraction is actually an attribute of the principle of vibration.
To over simplify: Our thoughts affect our vibration and it is vibration that creates our reality.Personal Development of The Art of Vibration:
Mental transmutation (change) is an actual application of the principle of vibration. Perhaps you begin a heart centered way of living in your world. To change your mental state is to change your vibration. By changing your own vibration you will bend and shape your reality. (attract what you want) You may do this by an effort of action and will, by means of deliberately engaging in something that brings you joy and therefore raises your frequency. Essential oils, yoga, mantras, chanting, toning, art, reading books – any of these allows you to begin cultivating and actually shifting your thoughts, your vibration and therefore your entire life into a more enjoyable state.January 17, 2017 at 1:53 pm #125588Blue SoulParticipantThank you very much Peter!
January 18, 2017 at 5:07 am #125627InkyParticipantHi bluesoul,
I have a couple of ideas, but I warn you, they are “out there”:
1. There are thought forms which float around the ethers. This is why several people have the same idea in different parts of the world at the same time and why (for example) the most popular name at one point was Isabelle ~ and each mother thought it was a unique name when they came up with it!
Maybe other people are having the same random thoughts about them, or maybe they’re having those same thoughts about you! Or everyone is feeling that way towards people.
2. Past life resonance. Maybe there is an aspect of you that had betrayed them at one point. Or they were unevolved in the past and you had judged them.
The important thing is not to harbor those thoughts or pay much attention to them. Let them float away. And if Karma rears its ugly head and you attract something because of it, rejoice! One less karmic thing to deal with going forward!
Blessings,
Inky
