@Jasmine-3ParticipantHi Zita,
I am sorry that you have had to read such a post from another TB fellow. Pls dont let it create any negativity in your heart. There is a lot of beauty in the world and you just focus on that.
Lots of love,
J
@Jasmine-3ParticipantHi Danger
You need to work on your vocabulary. Otherwise, you might be in for regrets in the near future. Whatever we think about the most, we become that unfortunately. My experience tells me that the type of energy that we radiate onto others, comes back to us multi fold. So if you feel that you are not radiating positive energy in your posts, then it is time to change the focus. You dont have to be nasty to someone to make them aware of your innate feelings. I hope you will take some time to think about this. Many times, we do things without realising their consequences. And by the time we realise the consequences, it is often too late.
Best wishes,
J
@Jasmine-3ParticipantThanks Allison.
Listen to your inner guidance and follow your heart. You wont go wrong ever 🙂
Have a fab day ahead
J
@Jasmine-3ParticipantThanks everyone.
Hi Danger
Thanks for your post. I have to applaud your honesty and cut throat truthfulness in your post. Many a times, we want to show compassion to people who are hurting and often we can push them deeper into their problems with such an act. To be able to put things so simply as you have done can be an eye opener and I feel it is also a form of compassion. I hope Pink Salmon will see the beauty and sincerity in your words and take some steps to initiate a positive change in his life. At the end of the day, we are 100 % responsible for whatever happens in our life. So, the sooner we come to grasp that concept, the easier life becomes. Age is no barrier when it comes to becoming more self aware and show self compassion.
Best Wishes to you and Pink Salmon
J
@Jasmine-3ParticipantThanks Luna.
Hi M
This is 007 😉
Congrats on getting your fitness back and recovering from your injury. Many people never get to recover from their injuries and go on to live with regrets for the rest of their lives. You are a lucky woman !!
I am not sure what sports or team work mean for you personally. For me, it is about getting better each day, being the best I can be at what I do with whole heart and helping my team achieve its goal. It has never been about competition with others or what others may think about me. There is only one of you in this world. Even if your parents wanted to create another M, they wont succeed. You are as unique as it gets, which means you are as special as anyone else in this world. So where is the competition, pride, fear, failure etc ? It is unfortunately all in our heads.
So tell your mind to bugger all and go back to your sport (only if you love it and have passion for it). If you dont have passion for something then it is a lot harder to convince the mind or the physical body to help us out.
Count your lucky stars and get on with life. One of the local state rugby player (who is only 22) down under was declared a quadriplegic yesterday post a nasty tackle few days ago – his life will never be the same again but I know he will come around and make the best of what life has dealt him. Whats stopping you ?
J
@Jasmine-3ParticipantHi Allison
So good to hear that you love dogs too. My fur kids changed the definition of love when they came into our lives 7 years ago. The unconditional love, their cheekiness and resilience always helps to get me out of the most awful moods anytime. One of them has completely stolen my heart – he sits next to me while I do my reports at odd hours etc and never complains about the lack of courtesy that I show. He is at the door wagging his tail with a bouncy smile when I come back from anywhere, be it at 2 am or 4 pm. And when we sit down to meditate each evening, they join us without making any noise and become part of the whole process. This is the animal spirit. They will love you regardless of how you treat them back.
Charity is very much like that. If you harbour negativity towards the charity that you wish to engage in for whatever reasons, it defeats the purpose of being selfless. If you do not wish to go to the pound or dog shelter as it doesnt suit your value system, then dont. If you dont want to donate cash, dont. But pls dont reason out your actions or blame yourself for being selfish.
Whatever you want to do – charity work or donations etc – do it with unconditional love and acceptance. Do it with selflessness and no expectations as it will help you to feel good and content.
Pls keep the conflicts away. Selflessness and conflicts do not go hand in hand.
May you also find a dog, who will change the meaning of love and charity for you. Lots of woof woof…..

@Jasmine-3ParticipantHi
I will share my thoughts here with you. Not sure if they will resonate with you today or not as you may be feeling quite overwhelmed. Perhaps you can come back to them in a week or so when things are calmer.
Love doesnt live alongside conflict. So if someone is creating a conflict in your head or life, you need to sit down and work out as to the cause for that conflict. Life is not a bed of roses but it is not a bed of thorns either. Whatever we give out, we receive in amplified quantities.
Simplify your life and show some compassion for self. You will find the answers to all your dilemmas and issues within yourself then. There is no one in this world who can get you out of your negative state of mind except for yourself.
Sending you heaps of positive energy and may you find the strength to love yourself.
Jasmine
@Jasmine-3ParticipantHi Luna @lunamimi – you have floored me with your beautiful drawings and pictures. We need more people like you in this world. Thanks for sharing them. I am usually a very positive soul anyways but you took that positivity to a new level today. Lots of love and blessings to you. You will be in my prayers.
Hi Jess @tsuki
Susan Jeffers has done a recording of positive affirmations. It is titled Inner talk for a confident day and you can find it here – http://www.susanjeffers.com/home/detailtemplate.cfm?catID=107 . You can get it off app store as well.
You can put the short recording on your iphone, pod, usb etc and listen to it everyday for 21 days ( better if you listen to it in the morning as a breakfast for your mind) and see the difference. I assure you that it will bring a very positive change in your life. I understand the challenges that overthinking or over active mind can bring about. Susan has a divine voice and the vibrations of her words stay with you the whole day and create a magical atmosphere. The more these affirmations become a part of your life, the more confident you become at dealing with anything that life may hand you. Why dont you atleast give it a try ?
And the suggestions that Luna has shared are really cool and I am going to give them a go myself.
Cheers
Jasmine
@Jasmine-3ParticipantHi Jo
Thanks for your post and congrats for your mindfulness journey.
I will share my experience, which may or may not resonate with you but I am sure you will hear from other TB members on this topic as it is quite thought provoking.
– not everyone wants to be on the soul consciousness, self realisation or mindfulness journey. Everyone has their own reasons – some known and some unknown.
– help works the most when it is asked for and even then, some help may resonate with some people and some may not. Everyone is on their own journey. Unwanted help or advice often falls onto deaf ears.
– our words, actions, feelings and thoughts produce a vibration (energy), which has the capacity to reach the other person much faster than any email, mail, words etc. When our intention is pure and produces positive vibrations, even the worst criticism will appear as a divine or melodious music to someone’s ears. If the intention is wrong, even the most beautiful compliment will backfire and produce a conflicting response from the other individual. You can try this on your own.
– we cant fight with someone else’s ego or defences. However, we can try to act out our most authentic self and “walk the talk”. If you wish to nurture someone with your compassion, do so but without any expectations or use of logic mind. For eg, Telling your co worker that he is smart and competent is great. However, then using your logic mind to reason out as to why he seeks more praise and approval (or your praising him leads him to want more of the same from others) defeats the purpose. He is he and you are you. By showing your compassion and love to him, you have shown your beautiful side. Leave it at that.
– we can help the people most when we are our authentic self, that is we accept who we are as we are…..and in the process, we are also acknowledging that we accept people the way they are without any questions asked. And trust me, when you do this with a pure intention, your positive vibrations will do all the work for you in helping that person become more secure or centered. Energy flows from high to low level.
– other ways of sharing your love and compassion is to offer prayers for these people while you meditate. Universe listens to all our prayers, which are not conflicting in nature.
Does this make sense ?
Jasmine
@Jasmine-3Participant@Jasmine-3ParticipantThanks Sufi and The Ruminant for your kindness. I had a huge and beaming smile on my face after reading your words.
Thanks The Ruminant and Prabha for your excellent suggestions :).
When my spiritual teacher found me a few years ago, these were the 2 things, which were imparted to me : you are 100 percent responsible for everything that happens in your life; and you be the book and you be the reader. Being who I was at the time, I took these words of wisdom as “total crap” and found it hard to assimilate.
After regular and devoted practice of mindfulness over the last 2 years atleast, these words have started to resonate with my being and now, they are part of who I am. The right kind of Meditation helps us to find all the wisdom that is contained within us. We all have the power to dive into our own inner world to find the solutions to all our dilemmas, which are unique to us and us alone. What it takes is regular and devoted practice and unfortunately, there is no end to this learning. We will never graduate from this life school until we die and after that god knows ;).
Cheers,
J
@Jasmine-3ParticipantThanks Al (@simpleal). Full heartedly agree with you have written here :). Thanks.
Hope Sage finds it useful and yours/Matt’s words resonate with her being.
J
@Jasmine-3ParticipantHi Sufi
Thanks for your post. I would like to share my experience with you and hope it will provide a different perspective for you.
I must have read over 150 self-help books few years ago to start the journey that you wish to commence now and none actually helped in the long term. Everyone is providing their own personal experience in the books but we are not them. Everyone on this planet is one and unique. Our thoughts, personalities, DNA, coping skills etc do not coincide with anyone else on this planet. We are as unique as it gets. What might work for your mate may not work for someone else. This is the reason why giving or seeking advice is sought with so much caution as one can only provide their personal opinion but it may or may not be suitable for the concerned individual.
I do refer to some books on a regular basis such as those from Louise Hay, Susan Jeffers and Cheryl Davidson but it is purely to calm me down if I am being highly emotionally charged. The following have been the most helpful in terms of practicality : regular practice of meditation( heaps of good stuff on you tube); practicing gratitude and positive affirmations daily ; breathing exercises; good nutrition; 8 hour sleep ; and exercise. I am becoming more authentic “me” every day. Now, people do not threaten me as I am able to appreciate that hey, everyone is unique so there is no competition. There is no resentment and we are all doing our best to perform our role on the life stage. It is all good and there is enough for everyone on this planet. This transformation has made a huge change in the people that I attract nowadays. I am able to learn freely from every interaction and relationships do not feel heavy or draining anymore.
Does this make sense ?
Cheers,
J
@Jasmine-3ParticipantHi Jess
@amatt is more experienced in this stuff than many of us so hopefully, he will provide his perspective on this when he goes through your post.I will share my experience with you. Mind (ego / logic) and body (physical body / emotions) are part of one continuum according to my spiritual teachers and we are not this body or mind. Hang in there with me pls on this.
The symptoms that you describe fall into the “panic attack” category. Often some people can have panic attacks when our thoughts and our feelings / actions are out of sync. The subconscious mind carries all the regular or routine thoughts that make us (these thought patterns could be coming from days, months or years ago) and conscious mind is the one, which is active currently and processing current information. Subconscious becomes highly active when we sleep and goes into passive mode when we are awake as the conscious mind takes over. Physical body or emotions in the “out of sync” state often react to subconscious mind more than the conscious mind. While your conscious mind is silent, your subconscious mind is playing havoc in your life by creating bodily symptoms. You have some unresolved issues from the past that you may need to work through.
Meditation is one form of looking into your subconscious mind patterns; if you start your meditation with breathing exercises before going into a semi trance state, you will be able to achieve a much better result of watching your subconscious film. With practice, you will come to know what your regular thought pattern is and I wont be surprised if it compromised mostly of sub optimal beliefs from the childhood. Another way of changing subconscious thinking is to practice positive affirmations few times a day with a clear visualisation. For example: I am safe and Universe is providing for my every need and want. While saying this, visualise jess feeling safe and loved. You will notice a huge difference in just a few days if you practice this.
Some people go for EFT sessions, hypnotherapy or energy healing sessions to align their subconscious with conscious mind. But it all comes down to the quality of your thoughts that you have fed into your mind over time. Repeated thoughts or recurrent thoughts form a belief system, which becomes our personality and we start acting out according to this (very much like on an auto-pilot).
All this may seem quite complex at this stage but I assure you that with practice, things become more clear and we become more self-aware. Thats what spiritual growth is all about.
Blessings,
J
