    Hi Lucie,

That’s an interesting story you two have. I think it’s great that you feel strong in giving yourself some time to work things out. But I think because you understand how important it is to create some space for yourself there’s no harm in talking to your friend about your feelings. Maybe it’s not as romantic as some big declaration of love, but it could be what you both need to clear the air and open it up for a gradual development later on. If it really is love – and it sounds like it from your desire for you both to be happy as individuals – then he will respect your need for space to be your own person in a relationship too.

Mostly, have courage! And good luck! 🙂

    Hey CY,

I would love to have an answer for you, but I’m not sure there is one exactly.

I’m in a similar position as you, going for nomad because I feel like I’m searching for something out there somewhere. Home, adventure, both, or something like that.

Something I’ve been thinking about recently is that it really is connection that I want. Like there’s a lost sense of self. Do you know that feeling when your heart is really pounding for something – like when you taker a risk for something you really want to do? That’s when I feel most whole, most like I know myself. It doesn’t need to be a rush, but it’s when I’m following my heart rather than that erratic head. Maybe it’s not that your friends are doing any better, you just want different things? Sometimes I find it really difficult measuring a low-budget vagabond type lifestyle against my friends doing PhDs and in fat-pay-cheque companies, or freelancing etc
Don’t worry. Relax. Trust me, it’s tough but worth it. You’re not ‘supposed’ to be anywhere specific. I know that’s tough; I used to think that by now I’d be living the rock star lifestyle in a beautiful place by the ocean with a girlfriend who I just clicked together with. It’s a very lonely feeling when you’re not only comparing yourself to what others are/have, but also the you that you thought you should be…

So, I can’t offer you an answer to bring a fantastic opportunity out of the sky, but I can offer you someone to talk with about it? Who knows, maybe we can work it out together! 🙂

    Hugs!!
    Kat.

Aw thanks Inky, that’s really helpful advice and I’m quite confident you know where you’re coming from.
I agree, I’m sure I’m a highly sensitive person so the emotions thing (for example, controlling said ‘neediness’) is pretty tough.

    I’ll try it out!
Thanks again, have a great day!
