Sadly, many people suffer from depression worldwide – in fact, according to the World Health Organization, an estimated 350 million people have some sort of depression. Even if you don’t have a mental disorder, you can still feel depressed from time to time through the ebbs and flows of life. No matter how down you feel, however, you can always pick yourself back up again and forge on through the pain and difficulties you may face. March 5, 2016 at 5:52 pm #98113JanusParticipantI love those quotes;) They are very insightful and encouraging;) I like 9, 10 and 11 because they seem to speak to me. I like 10 because I am still working on learning to accept myself and sometimes I compare myself to others and pity that I’m not like them, it is true that self-pity brings us down and keeps us from truly going after our goals in life because you keep focusing on what you don’t have and all that you are not instead of making use of your talents. There are times when I feel like I’m not sure what my talents are which is why I like quote 9. I have so many thoughts, doubts, and fears in my heart and so many questions I wish I knew about my life’s path, but I realize that I should just live in the moment, accept the questions I have in my heart instead of searching for a path, since life is a journey to be explored, also the quote seems to remind me of embracing uncertainty and keeping a positive attitude and slowly working your way to the answer. There are times when I feel restless and full of self-pity because I’m not sure where I have a place in society and if the path I’m headed is the right one, but I think I will keep your quotes in mind and live life instead of worrying about what the answer to all my uncertainties are. I agree with quote 11 because people who face suffering do develop a compassion for other human beings and wish to help them. From personal experience, I was bullied in seventh grade and i realize that I would never be a bully or put someone down and I have decided to help those who are sad or have been bullied because I realize that I can understand what suffering is. Also suffering makes a person stronger and realize the beauty of life. In reference to the pearl quote about how the oyster makes a pearl out of the injuries it faces, I believe that people face sorrows and obstacles in life and those who keep going develop their own strength, their own pearl and they develop the knowledge and compassion to share their beauty with others. Quote 11 also gives me hope about one of my talents which is compassion and the determination to keep going through suffering and helping others, it reminds me not to pity myself and to be patient through the storms of life because like the oyster i can become stronger and make my own pearl.

Thank you for responding to my post 🙂 It’s always nice to be able to help and encourage others. I feel it relates to so many of us in different/personal ways, which is great.
I can relate to you on the “being bullied” part because I was, when I was in elementary school. At times our life’s path is staring at us right in the face but we are too consumed with doubt and fear. We ignore it until we realize that something or someone won’t go away. Those things is life trying to tell us that it won’t stop until we understand the directions to our path is in our face. Sometimes it takes awhile to finally realize it.
Scary obstacles in life happen, in order for us to conquer them to reach happiness. Whenever we are stuck, is because we are meant to keep moving towards our goals and towards our special someone. Keeping gravitating towards the things you desire Shirley and you will be able to obtain anything you put your mind to. So happy to hear you want to help people too, that is always a wonderful thing. Create a vision board and paste all the things you want in life and then look at it every day. It has worked for me. How do you feel about positive vision boards?

March 7, 2016 at 5:16 pm #98336JanusParticipantI like your idea of a vision board, elle;) it would be great to get pictures of people who are healthy in their circulation and skin and imagine myself free of acne and my hands healed from being dry and purple in the winter and also to improve my eyesight. there are times when i need to remind myself to be patient and not to be self-critical because when i see myself with the flaws i have, it makes me feel self-conscious around people who seem to be already healthy. i think i apply number 7 to when i am stressed to hang out with friends and to laugh and release the stress, it often helps to laugh and release the tension in school or at the restaurant. It’s always good to expect the unexpected and to laugh when a bad thing happens and use it to grow. The vision board idea is a great motivator because there are times in life when I doubt myself and wonder if I can be healthy and heal myself. I feel like everything happens for a reason and life is a balance and that every path has obstacles along the way, it’s what makes life a journey. There are some people I know who deny reality or their life’s path even though they see many obstacles telling them that they aren’t on the right path and there is a new road map leading them the other way, they are afraid to take the step or they think it’s too late for them. I feel like I want to help those people chase after their dreams because they spend life just drifting by, being controlled by the stresses that come their way and they don’t take time to really consider and think of what would truly make them happy. I feel that sometimes if a path has too many obstacles it could also mean that the path isn’t the right one for you, but if you have a true passion and desire to pursue a select path despite obstacles, you should pursue it no matter what. I feel like you shouldn;t let life and stress control you, but you should take control of your life and live your dreams.

That sounds like a good plan about the skin/circulation, I have poor circulation in my feet, as my feet are always cold. Have you tried putting coconut oil on your hands? So good for you and the best moisturizing for skin that’s dry.
Yes, please don’t be critical on yourself. We all have flaws and judging harshly won’t bring us joy but just more anxiety and stress. I love to laugh, laughing is so good for your soul. I do believe you can most definitely heal and be healthy. You can do that on your own or you can do it with someone you dearly love. The choice is yours.

Shirley, I completely agree with you on your last paragraph. What you wrote holds so much truth to it. Everyone deserves to live their dreams and to not allow stress to control them.
Let me know how your vision board starts coming along and all the stuff you decide on adding. If you want to buy the board, you can get one at Target. It’s cheap and in the markers/crayon aisle usually.

March 12, 2016 at 1:27 pm #98823JanusParticipantI think i will also put some quotes on my vision board as well, some of these quotes are very encouraging and i find i need encouragement in life at times;) I like the idea of the vision board because when i feel uncertain, i can look at the images and quotes of my goals and be motivated again by what path i want to take. i feel like people take paths just because others think that is the right path for them to take, but i feel we should look within ourselves to see who we really are as a person and take the path that makes us truly happy instead of going on the whims of everyone else. life is meant to be lived and we should all go for our dreams no matter what.

You are so right about this and that’s why I still love the same woman, after all these years. I believe in myself and trust myself, so I always go with my energy. I trust my energy even more, now that I’m older and have realized that my intuition never lies. For some people, it’s difficult to understand intuition only because they have so much static in their mind. It’s always important to clear our minds for a good hour and meditate. When we are truly at peace, your intuition will guide you as long as you’re open to the energy of good vibrations. When we allow fear, doubt and negativity take the stage, that’s when the static appears and hazes over our good intuition. I respect that everybody is different but or me, I trust myself and my intuition whole heartedly. <3
Let me know when you are finished with your vision board and how you got it all put together. It’s amazing to see your own creativity when it’s all finished. I’m so very proud of mine right now. 🙂
