A POEM BY NIKKI: I WANT TO BE ME.

I want to open (the windows)

The windows of my heart and look inside.

    Not imprisoned by fear

Or care for the thoughts of my peers.

I long for a heart beat

That doesn’t feel out of place or frantic

When it knows something I don’t yet.

    I want calm shoulders

    And genuinely beaming smiles.

    I want to be free

    I want to be me.

I like the line “And genuinely beaming smiles”. (Hate the other kind!!)

Thank you for this nice poem! 🙂
