    Hello

Can anyone recommend a book to me please. I am coming through a tough spell of anxiety (2 years) I posted on tough times a year ago and had some wonderful replies.

I am now in a good place and am doing a mindfulness course but I am after some kind of book to inspire me to become more positive, happy and spiritual I guess. Just something lovely and fluffy. I have no idea what i am looking for but I love yoga, mindfulness and just want something lovely to read that will help me further on my journey. I am a very calm and loving person now but still have some lingering anxiety.

I wasn’t sure where to post this so I hope here is ok.

    Thank you.

    Hi Ju,

I don’t know if you read it already, I know a lot of people have, but I would recommend Paulo Cohelo’s book The Alchemist.
I’ve been recommended this reading on this forum and I really loved it. It helped me a lot.

On the other hand, I’d be glad to know what other people would recommend since I am in a similar case.

    Take care πŸ™‚

    HI Libby,

My suggestion would be “The Untethered Soul” by Michael Singer, it’s one book that will move you higher.

    All the best

Hi Libby. I’d recommend “Your Sacred Self” by Wayne Dyer.

Brightest Blessings Libby! If you haven’t checked out this little gem, please do read; ZEN and the Art of Happiness by Chris Prentiss. I carried this book in my purse for 2 years as a “Karma pick-me-up” when I was having rough times in my life and was frequently ‘doused’ by other people’s negative mojo… (My kids rag me about how my book is “hi-lighted to death in an array of neon marker colors and do I have enough mini post it tabs, on my favorite pages!”) Here’s hoping you will find some inspiration too… Namaste!

    Hey Libby,

I would honestly start with “The Secret” by Rhonda Bryne. You can also view it as video documentary. It’s honestly a fantastic place to start for positive thinking – and it’s pretty much life-changing. You can see how highly credible it is by typing it into Google πŸ™‚

Thank you all so much for replying.

I have bought the Untethered Soul and I shall be reading it this week. Thank you TJ.

Thank you Jim, I shall look that book up now πŸ™‚

Ellie G, I bought the Zen and the art of happiness and Wow I am loving it. I am 75% of the way through it now and I am already looking for a similar book. I am really interested in buddhism and positive thinking. I have had a tough life and suffered extreme anxiety the last 2 years after I went through a horrible experience with my extended family ( that I have since walked away from) My life is now good but the anxiety still affects me daily. I am finding yoga and mindfulness helpful but feel I need something more as I am so negative. This book really did help. Thank you so much.

Thank you Bon. I have heard about The Secret. There are alot of negative reviews on Amazon aren’t there. I shall check it out though. πŸ™‚

    Hi Libby!

I have suffered with anxiety and panic disorder for 11 years.
Some great years in that stretch- some very challenging!
A book that really, really helped me understand the nature of anxiety & panic attacks is called Panic Away.
It’s an ebook format/online program that you can easily find by a Google search.
I read it a few years back and will be giving it another read as it really helped me to be courageous in the face of attacks

    Good luck πŸ™‚

Hi Libby, I have anxiety at times haven’t had a break down in a while thank goodness. I recommend reading Pastor Rick Warrens Book ” The purpose Driven Life” why on earth are we here for ? Wonderful read and tells the truth on every aspect of life , worrying , feeling sad, lonely . It’s a good read and recommend it to anyone . Hope you feel better soon. PS since I have started running that has helped a lot ! Any form of cardio will do
