A big day today. My cd, in a duo with another musician, was released. I’m so proud that it’s finally ” out there” . This week has been a whirwind of a concert, tv and radio interviews. Feel thankful to the inner voice that gave me the courage to sing out, to believe that I have something to say.

    Dear ffran:

Congratulations! And for as long as you are not promoting your cd here in a self marketing act, I am glad for you!

A little perplexed by your comment Anita. I wasn’t looking to promote the cd. I didn’t mention the name, and I wouldn’t.Just wanted to share with like minded people. As my lovely Dad used to say, don’t assume that people are there to manipulate a situation, or to manipulate you. Assume the best from people , look for the light, and that is what you will see. That’s what he used to say to me, and I live by that as much as I can !

    Dear ffran:

You wrote that you live by the teaching: “Assume the best from people… and that is what you will see”

So the teaching is not: Assume the best from people and that is who they are? Only that I will see what I assume?

I am perplexed as well! If you would like to further explain this teaching and how it has been working for you, please do! And congratulations on your one day old cd.

Congratulations ffran – well done in making something happen that you wanted. Its lovely to have someone share something good.

I like your Dad’s saying – we see more of what we look for. Its why when you are single and lonely everyone seems to be a couple lol.

When I was in a particular low mood and walking to a friends house I realized I was hating everyone going by – seeing all the (what I considered) negative things them, smoking/stupidly dressed/too loud, so I force myself to silently compliment one good thing I could see about everyone going past (nice shoes, helping the environment by biking etc) and suddenly people were not so bad and I was feeling like people were generally nice or at least o.k. I guess it particularly works with people as we are a mix of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ qualities or things people can perceive that way 🙂
