4 days ago. i had a panic or anxiety attack and i thought i was going to die. sorry for being dramatic but it was probably the scariest feeling i had in my life. this was prior to me healing my emotional wounds and reaching a high level of consciousness. i felt like all those things that i was originally criticizing. i think i felt guilt. i then tried to come back down to a lower level of awareness. when that happened i had a panic attack and i felt like i was going crazy…i have lost sleep and cried so much as a result of the trauma. can someone help me to understand how to move forward without fear?

    Dear Rohail Bukhari:

I don’t think there is a way to  “move forward without fear”. We are alive, therefore we are afraid.

I think healing is about being  afraid of what really is a danger and no longer  being  afraid of what is not a danger. For example, people fear  their thoughts,  fearing thoughts by themselves can  cause bad things to  happen. This is a fear that  is not related to real d anger. That fear can  be silenced.

On the other hand, if we   handle a woodstove that  is hot, better be afraid  of  getting our hand burnt and be careful. Or if we are angry and feel  like talking abusively to another, better fear harming another and be careful, choose  our words.

In summary, healing/ mental health is about directing  our fear where it belongs, and feeling an  intensity of it that is appropriate to the situation, for example, not feeling terrified every time I find that food has spoiled and needs to be discarded (an example in  my  life).
