Hi, everyone. I am very new to Tiny Buddha but I came to the site because I was reading about embracing self. I am currently studying to become a health/life coach.
Since I was young I always felt aware of my feelings and all the anxiety, pain, insecurity, self doubt, etc that I was going through. As I grew up I started to observe my behaviours and habits and then after dissect them to get to the route of the problem. I began to use my own self to research how one can overcome these negative behaviours, feelings and habits without having to suffer with them alone as I did. My biggest issue growing up was self-confidence. I was growing up and my confidence was being left behind. I was very much influenced by others and always thought I was not good enough. So my life’s mission has become, helping people step into their true self which means embracing who you are and loving that person. It also means becoming the person you envision yourself to be if you “had a different life” because the truth is we don’t need a different life, we have this life and we are very capable of many things.
I am reaching out to people on this site because it appears that many people who have written in the forums and read the blog posts are looking for some advice on their daily struggles. Also because people who are actively searching for help and advice are already on their way to becoming this true self and they just need a little push. As part of my schooling I am told to gift my “Step Into Your True Self Breakthrough Session” to 6 practice clients. I have come here to look for open and honest people to help become aware of whats stopping them from getting what they truly want and helping them figure out what stepping into their true self really means for them and their life.
I am just going to write this incase some of you are wondering, THIS IS NOT AT ALL AN ADVERTISEMENT. I actually need to do this in order to become certified and on top of that I want to do this. I am not asking for a life long commitment and I am not trying to sell something to you. I am asking for an honest conversation about your struggles and your goals. This is merely practice and hopefully you can get a little insight into your life and the conversation can help you in some way.
Thank you for helping me contribute to the beauty and power of individuals everywhere!

What would you write as the “Steps to your true self” such that it would be applicable to anyone who reads this post of yours and can apply it to any/all problems of their life?~VJ
November 30, 2016 at 7:00 am #121579LauraParticipantHi johannalj,
Best Wishes best wishes to you and thank you for what you do!
As a social work and psychology degree holder I truly understand the importance of what you do.
As someone who uses counseling services for herself on a regular basis, thank you for what you do, we need more clinicians who, like you, are willing to help others.
You said “So my life’s mission has become, helping people step into their true self which means embracing who you are and loving that person. Out of curiosity what are your theories and ideas on how to achieve these goals and how to get started in the right direction to start creating these things for our current life?
November 30, 2016 at 7:55 am #121585JohannaParticipantHi Ihafner and VJ,
Thank you for your kind words and well wishes,
I can not go into detail about the way my program works as it is still a process and I do not want to give away any of the course material but really what we as health coaches do is master habit change.
Most often people who struggle know what they need to do in order to help themselves. Those same people come on these sites and read advice online on how to love yourself and live a mindful life or whatever their struggle is and it is mostly very insightful and helpful. Though common sense is not common practice. What we are here for is to help people actually implement this common sense into their life and work on it everyday. Changing bad habits and behaviours isn’t an easy process because some things we’re trying to change have been embedded into us since birth or childhood and to break a habit like that it requires us to work on it everyday until it becomes our new way of thinking and living.
You may wonder, well why can’t we just do this for ourselves. Well like I mentioned before health coaches provide clients with the right system (personalized to that specific client’s needs), the right support (someone to encourage you when your feeling stuck) and the right accountability (a kick in the butt when your falling off track). Without these 3 things its hard for someone to keep themselves on track. To your question about if the steps are the same for everyone; No one program is the same the only thing that stays the same is the habit change.
Thank you so much for your questions,
I hope it helps anyone come forward and ask for this help. Again I am gifting this breakthrough/discovery session to anyone that is honest and open to getting the help. I also will gift my 90 day program to anyone who is serious about this change and feels that after our conversation I am a good fit for them.December 2, 2016 at 12:12 am #121726believeParticipantHi Johannalj,
I just started a thread on managing criticism calmly. I read your post and would be interested getting help. Please let me know how to go about this.
Thank you
December 7, 2016 at 12:43 am #122124MimiParticipantjohannalj,
When you say “conversation” do you mean on the phone? I don’t like talking on the phone. It makes me nervous. If that is involved, I’m out.
If you mean “talking” via email, then I’d be game for hearing more about what would be involved in this process.
I can tell you that I struggle daily with health issues and emotional issues. I need to lose a lot of weight, deal with clutter and organization, and work on important things I’ve started (writing some books). I’m tired, confused, overwhelmed, depressed, and more. If you’re up for a challenge, let me know. I think I’d be a real test to see if your plan works for someone who has a lot of difficulties!
Let me know!
December 7, 2016 at 12:49 am #122125MimiParticipantp.s. I forgot to say that a main thing for me is that I have bad sleep caused by a longtime health condition. A health condition that is hard to fix because of my food addictions/cravings/whatever you call them. Not easy.
I might be too complex for your study?
Mimi
December 7, 2016 at 1:12 am #122128MimiParticipantanother p.s.
I keep thinking of more things because I was writing another post, asking for advice, and I keep realizing what more of my current problems are. Jeez, I have so many!
I’m also grieving over recent losses, several in recent years – several relatives and a cat, too. Then there was my husband’s open heart surgery. That was hard, too. Thank goodness he’s fine, but we both need to be doing better, health-wise.
So, yes, I’d say I’m struggling. I think I fit that description. 🙂
December 8, 2016 at 8:36 am #122275JAMIEParticipantI would be very interested in receiving your Insight and help I struggle with depression anxiety shame and guilt and I’m willing to be honest and open that’s the only way to really get help right? And I desperately need some help and guidance so please consider me and would appreciate it if you let me know either way thank you
December 8, 2016 at 11:28 am #122293JohannaParticipantHi Everyone,
I am very sorry I have not gotten back to you guys yet. Thanks to Anita, she sent me a private message and I actually got a notification to my email. Your posts have not popped up on my email so I deeply apologize if you’ve been waiting for my response. I must have to change a specific setting.
Hi Kavita, you say “managing criticism calmly”, we have to get more in detail to where this criticism is coming from, how regularly you are getting criticism, and why. Of course this is something everyone should master but I need to know why this has become very important for you in your life. The “Step Into Your True Self Breakthrough Session” is just a conversation to talk about your goals, struggles and see if the way the “Step Into Your True Self: Total Transformation Program” is right for you in dealing with your specific issues. We can address the questions I just posted above during the sessions privately if you want to go ahead with the session. Let me know:)
Hi Mimi, unfortunately to have the “Step Into Your True Self Breakthrough Session” we have to talk via phone, Facebook audio call or Skype call. This is not to create discomfort within you but instead to really dig deep into the issues and to get all the questions and answers that are needed in order to make the conversation productive and successful. By reading your post I can say you do qualify for the session and the program as we deal with both “health and emotional issues” in the program. The program deals with weight loss, decluttering and making your goals a priority in your busy life. Also these “emotional issues” you are facing like feeling “tired” “confused” overwhelmed” and “depressed” are things many people face during challenging times. What we deal with is changing these habits and making positivity and productivity the forefront of the program. This is not saying that this program or me as your coach is the best fit for you but to say this is what our program does focus on but the initial session is to see if it really feels right to both you and me. I will not tell you I am right for you right now but if after our conversation I feel like I can benefit your life and help you with these issues I will confidently tell you I am the best fit for you in your life right now. If you would like to hear more about my position as a coach and what I can try to accomplish for you in our session together I am happy to exchange emails and dig a little deeper and try to get you comfortable with talking via audio call. Though the truth is for the session to take place I really need to use audio call.
Hi Saja, I see you are looking for some insight into the struggles you are currently facing. “Depression anxiety shame and guilt” are very tough emotional barriers to deal with and at time requires professional psychiatric help. If this is your first step to dealing with these issues I am happy to have the session with you. During our session we can determine what the next best step for you is with gaining control of the struggles you face and really living life to the fullest as your True Best Self. I’m pleased to hear that you understand why it is important to “be honest and open” because you are right and this means your really willing to make the changes needed to step into your true self. I am very much happy to try and help you with this and gift you with the “Step Into Your True Self Breakthrough Session”. If you’d like to move forward, send me a message and we can take the next steps.
I would like to again state that the course I am currently taking requires me to gift 6 of these conversations to practice clients but this does not entirely mean we are fit to work together. Also, if after our conversation we both feel like we are the best fit we can discuss you becoming a practice client for the 90 day program. Though, I may only be able to gift 1 or 2 of the total transformation program but we can discuss that following the session.
I am new to Tiny Buddha but if anyone knows how to private message on here, can you send me a message so I can see how it is done and maybe we can connect through that to share emails or Facebook profiles?
Thank you for your inquiries and openness,
I look forward to helping whoever, however I can:)Johanna
December 8, 2016 at 5:16 pm #122302MimiParticipantJohanna,
Thanks for letting me know about phone calls (of whatever type) being required. That does makes sense, but it’s just not for me.
I’m sure you are good at what you do, and I wish you much success. I hope that everyone who works with you gets some help in moving forward with their lives in a better way.
Mimi
December 11, 2016 at 1:32 am #122427believeParticipantHi Johannalj,
Your questions make a lot of sense. I still haven’t figured out how to send you a private message.
I am willing to give this a shot if you still have space.Thank you.
December 11, 2016 at 11:24 pm #122491JohannaParticipantHey Mimi, I just wanted to say thank you for reaching out, for your reply and for your well wishes.
I too wish you all the best in your life and that you overcome the issues you are facing. I leave my offer open to you at anytime. If you ever feel that it gets to be too much to handle on your own and your willing to step out of your comfort zone to even just have the one conversation, don’t hesitate to message me so we can connect.
I promise if you ever do reach out I will try my best to make you feel comfortable before even putting you on the phone.
But like I said this is open to you whenever (if ever) you feel it is right.Stay Strong,
