Why do I feel stuck, and almost at a pause in my life right now?? My school marks are slowly slipping and I feel like I cant get out of my pit that I’ve dug. Yes, I’ve come so far from where I’ve been a year ago, but I feel like I can’t fully reach the top yet. It seems so hard to reach happiness and yes some people might say that happiness is a choice, but I don’t get why it’s so hard for me to get to that place. I feel like I have weights on my shoulders dragging me down. Any little pointers would be great!

Go through Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs:

First, Physical. It might be something simple and fixable like a vitamin deficiency or a sleep condition. Who knows?? But you won’t know until you get a checkup.

If you are OK physically now look at Mental. Are your classes stimulating enough? Too hard? Are you excited about your major? Can you change it? I absolutely loved my classes, no matter what my grades were, because they excited and interested me!

Now, Emotional. Is there any leftover Trauma or Drama that is lingering? You talk about the “pit” and “where (you’ve) been a year ago”. Can you talk to a shrink, best friend or older big brother type person about this?

Last, spiritual. More nebulous, but just as important. Do you have a spiritual belief system? Do you practice it? Go to church or temple. Talk to a minister, or even shaman. Read up on spiritual texts. They don’t have to be religious. Even the New Age section of the bookstore has some gems in there.

    Good Luck!

    What a great post.
If this person understood it they would be better in no time.
One needs to self study, that’s it.

Hello, Your never stuck, although it may feel like that. I promise you the universe is busy at work trying to set you on the course that you so desperately seek. Think for a moment. While your life is on “pause” what are you supposed to learn or gain? The most obvious answer for me when I read your post was, patience. It is one of life’s hardest lessons. We live in a world that is constantly ON and GO GO GO! Maybe the universe is just asking you to slow down a bit. Trust. Happiness resides right within you. There is nothing you can buy or any job that you acquire that will ensure a lifetime of happiness. Sure, you will be happy in spurts when you reach milestones and accomplish things in your life but true happiness can be accessed anytime anyplace. You will find your footing, I promise. We have all been where you are. I am a prime example. I am such a stubborn impatient soul. I am from the growing generation of Instant gratification. It is a hard battle to sit back and just let things be. As long as you are doing the best that you can everyday and striving to be the best version of yourself I would say you are on the right track. Don’t waste precious time on thoughts of worry or doubt. You might not know what tomorrow holds or where your path will lead you, JUST KEEP WALKING ANYWAY!  Good Luck on your journey! KEEP MOVING!
