Will you experiment with this?
The constantly turning kaleidoscope of life cannot be contained in static words. The unfolding mystery cannot be named. The observer influences the observed with the quality of observation and everything changes in an instant. Knowing this, there are no workshops or books, teachings, traditions or techniques which can apply to living the mystery of life. However, as a start, as a help to transition from the old, linear, polarized, mechanical way of living to actually being alive — here are some words to experiment with. I find them useful. Will you share with me what you find? Thank you. – Gary

“Nobel Prize biologist Albert Szent-Gyorgyi, refers to syntropy as an “innate drive in living matter to perfect itself”.
“Some say that a desire arrives in your heart only because it can be fulfilled. As living beings, we have syntropy working in us in a very deep level. It’s this natural striving for growth, for expansion of life and consciousness. The hunger for getting better, living better, having more from life. This psychological drive, when obstructed, leaves us with a feeling of frustration and dissatisfaction that is hard to explain or to get rid of. We may try to numb it through small pleasures in life, or forget it through being busy at work or with family. But it’s still there.
“I won’t tell you to “be brave, follow your passion, chase your dreams!” (words that, although true, can easily become empty clichés). But I will remind you to get in touch with this primal aspect of our human nature, to hear its wisdom, and to honour it – allow it to take any shape it wants in your life.”

I have been trying to do some of these things lately.
One that really struck me was not just:
Being in the Present Moment
BUT THIS:
Being the Present Moment
It sort of jumped out at me when I read it. Touched me.
I’m also trying to get in touch with what “flow” feels like and how to be more like that.
Gratitude I do feel (and express) daily, but need to focus on it even more, and not so much my problems.

I have realized that living for the moment can create a very different reality and life experience than living to gratify the senses and the persona. My partner is more skilled at acting in the flow than me. It is natural for her. I am still in transition from an old paradigm of having control, being productive, getting wishes fulfilled and so on – to placing more importance and value on the quality I bring to the moment and allowing what wants to happen to emerge. Being the present moment and acting in the flow are part of a way of living that has a core sense of strength and beauty, trust and confidence, peace and joy unlike anything I experienced within the ‘old’ and common paradigm. Letting go of the old, common, familiar habits and behaviors is not always so easy, but oh! is it freeing and richly satisfying. There is nothing more self-empowering than taking on full self responsibility and being a conscious participant in one’s own soul unfolding. Best to you, Christine.

I live in the moment when I go for long walks – especially around this time of year. Some people sit on the floor and meditate – for me, walking is my form of meditation. My favourite time of day to walk is around sunset – I really do stay present when I see a really nice sunset. Bright colours shining through overcast clouds…I love overcast weather and when the sky is a mix of bright sunny colours with moody dark clouds. It’s so fleeting – it’s going to take on a completely different form the next day, when it’s gone it’s gone so looking at this painting in the sky kind of forces me to be present and take it all in as much as possible. I probably sound extremely trite and pretentious as I type this but I can’t explain it any other way *cackles*
I lived in the moment earlier today when I walked through a brief torrential rainfall on the way back from the supermarket (just when you think the weather is nice, it rains – only in England!) I love heavy rainfalls and overcast, muggy weather in the summer (I’m just weird like that) – I wasn’t in any rush to get indoors, I just walked as usual. I had to move away from being in the present moment when I realised I needed to rush back, I’d left my art supplies out in the back garden earlier!
