Valerie, I could not agree more. I believe happiness is the true measure of success, but even still, that measurement is so dependent on the person. One person may only be happy if they have a lot of money, and another person might be happy if they have a great family and great friends. It varies so much on the person, which makes this such a complicated question!
I don’t have a lot of likes by any means, but Kelly, definitely make the Facebook link more prominent on your blog! Having it at the top of your pages rather than hidden at the bottom will encourage more people to visit. I keep mine at the top, right by the logo (www.inspiration4.us)
I am struggling BIG TIME. But what I have found that works for me is when I write something that my Facebook friends can connect with. I’ve had 2 articles, one humorous and one personal, that have gained huge exposure because of the activity on my Facebook.
Other than that, I’m really struggling.
Thank you Dayna! Do recruiters take a cut of the profits? I really have no idea how that works.
Jo, I’ve found that those sites, while offering tons of work, are nearly impossible to land gigs with! I’ve given a few different sites a chance, but I always get beat out on the jobs!!
The strategy I’ve found most successful is cold emailing. I’ll browse through different websites every day, say bakeries one day, fitness clubs the next- if it seems that a website is outdated and can be improved, I use whatever contact is available to email them and offer my services and how it can help their business.
I haven’t gotten a ton of work yet, but it has been the best strategy for me so far. Once you have clients, a ton of your work will be based on referrals!
PS- Great to meet all of you!
For me, I like to grill chicken on the weekends to be able to make quick and easy meals during the week. My go tos are typical-
– Adding the grilled chicken to soup
– Making healthy wraps
– Cooking peppers and onions, adding salsa and eating over rice
On occasion, I’ll make an egg white omelet and add the chicken to make my own chicken fajita omelet. Delicious!
Abso-freaking-lutely!! I just graduated college, so I guess I’m luckier than most in the sense that I have the freedom right now to pursue freelance with little risk, Regardless, I’m sticking with it!
I’m working for myself right now, and it’s so difficult! I’m fresh out of college, so I figured now is the perfect time to give a crack at it.
I’m a Freelance Web & Graphic Designer, which I absolutely love, but finding clients is very difficult. I don’t mind being by myself as I am a very independent person, but having to find the work on your own rather than somebody hand you the work is very challenging!
