    Hi Everyone

    Happiness and Suffering

I feel like the two go hand in hand.

Some of the things that bring us joy come hand in hand with suffering. It doesn’t make them any less meaningful, if anything, it can make it more so.

We can make happiness, choose it. And often it comes with sacrifices.

Sometimes we aren’t fully aware of what those sacrifices might be when we make our choices.

We can get lost in the moment, whilst suffering. And lose sight of what we are working for. Perhaps not permanently, but that suffering can temporarily crowd our minds, leaving little room for much else.

Sometimes pain isn’t our choice though and we have to make a decision. How to put it behind us and when. Sometimes, we even need a reason why. We can either let it destroy us, or build a new life despite it.

Change can be hard when things are difficult. Some of the most worthwhile things are also the hardest.

I find it comforting paying attention to the journey, as well as the moment. The journey makes the moment a little softer and gives me hope for the future.

    Hello Alessa,

Thanks for the words of wisdom. If one spend a lot of time in self observation then one can learn that there are choices to be made. It is how one responds to life’s challenges and opportunities that make life a happy one or not. Sure, loving someone makes life good and losing that person makes us mourn. But, it is choosing where we decide to dwell that makes it true suffering or just a normal part of life. A person can either drown in their sorrow or mourn and move on. This doesn’t diminish the value of the loss. It just doesn’t control us. I hope all is well with you. And this reflection is only a moment of clarity and understanding.
