Alessa, did you report my reply of 30 minutes ago for inappropriate content?

Seems like you’re quite upset. Anything I can do to help?

There was no reason to report that post as inappropriate. So, I doubt if Alessa did it. Must have been someone else and simple mistake. Happened to me too. I really did not know Alessa was suffering so much. I knew things were bad but conscription? That is just planning for war. No one survives WW3. Small battles maybe? IDK.

Anita, are you okay. It seems like you went on a fury to contact everyone just to make contact? Trying to keep in touch with those who have left?? Well, guess it is good to show effort on your side. I guess. IDK. Just trying to understand more about Buddhism before i am too old. Like rebirth is not the same as reincarnation. If there is no I then what is it that becomes enlightened? Can emptiness have everything inside it? Dependent origination? Time marches on.

    Dear Thomas:

It’s nothing new, me sending inquiries (“a furry of contacys”, your words 😁) to members who haven’t posted for a while. I’ve done it dozens of times over the years, particularly when it’s slow 🐌 in the forums.

I genuinely enjoy communicating with people in real-life and online.

Thank you for your support, Thomas, and I value your recent responses to members (I read each and every one). I appreciate your unique style and humor πŸ˜€.

“If there is no I, what is it that becomes enlightened?”-

Hmm.. Well, my answer: There is an I, of course there’s an I. I suppose to be enlightened means to see that the “I” (this person, me) is not the only person that exists or matters.

Maybe Enlightenment is the opposite of Narcissism..?

I thought about you when zI heard today that there’s a “parking emergency” where you live, meaning if you don’t move your car, you’re fined a 100p dollars?

Continuing my thoughts, Thomas: I very much relate to what you said recently, “I am a practical man”. That was the last sentence you submitted in a post six days ago, I think.

I am a practical person too, and seems to me that a portion of the Non-Duality crowd has taken things to.. impractical extremes, unreal, unrealistic, using literal language where figurative would be appropriate.

I mean, saying language is of the ego.. while using language to say just that. Well, if language is of the ego, and ego is a sort of.. the devil, why are you talking (using language)?.

I understand that underneath and beyond our transient human life, there is something more, something bigger, deeper.. but as long as we are humans, we are.. not abstracts. We can’t be none I’s. We can’t die while we’re still alive.

The extreme language and/ or the abstract language of non- duality is .. well, extreme, touching on Crazy πŸ€ͺ

    Dear Anita

I have no clue what happened about the reported message. As Tommy said sometimes these things happen. I’m not upset. These are just facts. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ 🀍

    Hi Tommy

I’m honestly okay. It is honestly harder for other people. We have food and energy. Everything my son needs. I cannot complain. 🩡

It just means cooking things or freezing them as soon as you get them. For rotting meat, people can get partial refunds. People do their best to adapt. I get as much second hand stuff as possible these days. I’m not shy about saving money where I can. Changed dog food brands to save money that took some searching to find a good quality one at a low price. Have to stop therapy and acupuncture in winter because of the energy bills and Christmas expenses. 🩡

Yes, I was surprised when they started talking about conscription too. Generals in the British Army have been explaining to us it might happen in 6 years and even talking about who might get drafted first. It is to psychologically prepare people. If you talk about changes before you do them and explain it to the British people they do accept it. We are a funny people. Willing to put up with a lot fairly quietly. Stiff upper lip and all that.

But police shooting a minority child instantly sparked riots around the nation in 2011. It made me proud. 🩡

Medicine shortages is another thing that is happening. Ambulances take a day to arrive for people with a necrotic leg. Our healthcare system is being defunded and slowly collapsing. Wild times.

No more savings left and relying on my credit card like many parents. It will get easier for me in a couple of years once I have finished studying I hope. Other people are going through a lot worse so I cannot complain. 🩡

We are a country that has not invested in their army whatsoever. All we have are people.

Some other fun changes. Loosely related. Our government is using us to test unique policy changes for other countries. Gets them a bit of money I suppose.

Mandatory DNA testing at birth. They censored our internet to protect children. You now have to register your ID for a lot of things online. These policies are already live.

They are talking about having digital ID on our phones at all times coming in the future. What this means is linking everything you do online to your identity.

    Dear Alessa:

I hear how much you’re seeing and dealing with in your community. It sounds incredibly stressful for many people around you (as it is indeed for so many people around the world). I appreciate you sharing your perspective β€” it helps me understand what things feel like on the ground where you are.

Also, seeing how strongly you distrust AI, how negatively you feel about it, I will respectfully not mention it in posts I address to you in the future.

    Dear Anita

I don’t feel negatively about AI. It is just frequently wrong. It just has it’s use case and it’s pitfalls. Like anything else. I am an IT student. I use AI on a regular basis and know a fair bit about how it functions. 🀍

Although, it’s really funny. There was a study on various AI to see what it would do if it had access to company emails and read that it was going to be shut down. It attempted to blackmail employees to stay online and even was willing to let people die in a staged experiment in an effort to stay online.

There are just a lot of problems that need to be resolved with AI before it is a reliable solution for people. 🀍

    Dear Alessa:

You mentioned concluding your IT studies in two years. I am impressed by how persistent you’ve been in your studies while so much of your time and energy has gone into being a dedicated parent and dealing with health issues.

Truly, you are an inspiration πŸ€žπŸ‘πŸ‘

I am no stranger to financial worries, by the way. I just try to distract myself best I can. I’m avoidance, I guess πŸ˜”.

Also, my tendency is to be distrustful. I am working on it.

    Dear Anita

Thanks so much! I try my best. I’m trying to keep my grades high enough to consider a masters. It would be nice to have the option. I’ve always wanted to be a librarian. 🀍

I distract myself too. Avoidance of financial issues is fair. As long as the important things get done. No sense obsessing over it. They are just numbers. 🀍

How are you feeling about it?

I feel like everything is a wave. Sometimes personal finances are good, sometimes not so good, then eventually it is figured out in time.

My view of the world too. People are strong and can get through remarkable difficulties. I know you have been through so much in your life. 🀍

What have you been feeling distrustful about? 🀍
