    Hi Tommy

Practice is easier said than done Ha ha. My alarm went off ay 6am this morning did I leap out of bed enthusiastically to do an hours prayers before breakfast? Um erm no…. but I did do a half our meditation & then breakfast. Is that the middle way between all or nothing?
    best regards

    Hi Tommy

I wouldn’t say just medication. There are lots of ways to rebalance the body depending on the issue. It is a complicated subject.

I’m glad you haven’t had any side effects from your medications. 🙏

I don’t know what you mean about the experience of truth about ourselves? 🩵

Our body is designed to make us rest when we’re ill. If you’re feeling cheery are you as motivated to rest?

On the other hand, studies show that if you have had experiences where you have safely and successfully navigated complex health issues or severe pain such as childbirth. It alters the way your mind perceives pain and lowers the threat level for lower levels of pain and illness.

I guess my approach is to go with the flow. Emotions happen sometimes. That is okay. Sometimes we feel bad. That is okay. Trying to make things easier and trying to practice gratitude when things are hard. Also, okay. If it doesn’t happen, that is okay too.

Just trying your best to deal with what is in the best way you can at the time. 🩵

My son is getting heavy. I started getting injured frequently when trying to lift him. I’ve always been bad for sprains and tendinitis and things. Just got to figure out how to parent without lifting when he takes a mood.

I am having pain from kidney stones. I have had three before. Each time was told to drink more water to help flush out the stone. The pain really does deter practice. But, it really is what the heart that decides what one does next.

Experience the truth about ourselves is Kensho or Satori. It is receiving the transmission. It is learning the truth of ourselves, enlightenment. It is the path to end suffering by learning the truth of life. Some will say that this life is an illusion. That has to come from a place where one sees the difference between what is real and what is subjective.

Kids grow and we adapt to their growth. Stuff happens and we just try to do our best with what we got.
I feel terrible that I can’t do more to help my child. But, just live life as best we can.

    Hi Tommy

I’m so sorry to hear about the kidney stones. I hear they’re one of the most painful conditions you can get. I hope it passes quickly. Please be patient with yourself. If you get some practice in, great. If not, you can always make up for it when the stone passes. 🙏 🩵

I find this idea from Islam comforting. You know Ramadan and fasting. When you are pregnant and such, you don’t have to do it. But you still have to make up the days you miss afterwards. You have the rest of your life to do so.

I’m afraid I don’t know much about these things. 😊 Satori from what I’ve read briefly online seems to be being mindful and enjoying the moment? I find gassho – gratitude practice really helps. I’m very big on this.

It might sound silly, but I think we can change our minds outside of practice too.

How is she finding the new college? I feel like as parents, we just want the best for our children and want them to have good and happy lives. Part of that is also letting them learn to deal with challenges. For what it’s worth, I think you’re doing an amazing job. 🩵

    Thanks for the well wishes.
The kidney stones, I believe they have passed since I am not having any pain now. I have been slacking off and not doing my meditation. Well maybe in a few days I will get back to a routine. Looking for something, a spark or something of interest. Anything to get me back on the cushion. Don’t know.

    Hi

Yeah that lack of motivation is a real bummer, even though I know how beneficial it can be for me. The demon of apathy is one weighty lump to shift. I have a number of short practices to lean on, I even do them in bed even if it is only to have the aspiration for inspiration & motivation. More often than not just seeing the news headlines makes me take a moment to do mantra. There are days & days that are made up of micromoments rather than full blown sitting formally on the cushion & still having my head everywhere instead of being centered in the heart. You are not alone dude, hang in there
