    Heyyy tee,

Yeah something like that. He encouraged me for my MBA degree and helped me see my qualities, also encouraged my writing when nobody else did.

I wish him happiness and nothing else.

And tell me about you, how have you been? Is anything troubling you?

    Dear Ik09:

Thank you! I did ice/heat, took hot baths, anti-inflammatory meds and my hip/ lower back are better but still hurt, and it is frustrating for me to have to rest and not take my usual walks and work outside. Preventing injuries is most important, I always tell people… but not so good at following my own advice on the matter. I am looking forward to read from you next month , i hope to tell you that by then, I am out and about walking and working! Take good care of yourself, Iko9!!!

    Dear lko9,

I am mostly fine, but have chronic knee problems, which won’t go away anytime soon… I’ve learned to accept it, and as I accepted it, it’s more bearable, I mean even the physical pain isn’t that bad. For the time being, I can live with it… we’ll see what the future brings…

He encouraged me for my MBA degree and helped me see my qualities, also encouraged my writing when nobody else did.

That’s nice. Yes, I remember you said he was supportive of you, believed in you, even admired you…. but he didn’t believe in himself or value himself… and so he let those demons take over his life, they made him selfish and inconsiderate towards you…

Well, it’s good that you could forgive him and wish him all happiness. If you ever come into temptation to try to save him again, please remember that it is mission impossible… because no one can save him but himself. I feel like an overprotective aunt for mentioning it, but just in case, couldn’t help myself 🙂

Hi Anita, Happy New Year! I am good, been busy with work. But I have news! Since the last time we connected, I came across an opportunity to submit my poems and get them published so I did. I will soon have the hard copy with me and the book will be sold on Amazon at a low price.

Nothing on the marriage front yet but now I am looking forward to having a partner. It does not mean I am over my past relationship but I am not looking forward to comparing my future relationship with my past. I will start afresh.

Life is alright, I made some really good friends who want nothing from me apart from my friendship and my well-being and I have been happy since I met them.

    Dear Ik09:

So very good to read back from you, and it feels even better to read about your literary success:

C o N g R a T u L a T i O n S  for getting your poetry book published! I definitely want to order your book from Amazon when it becomes available (let me know of the title of your book,  if  you feel okay about sharing it here).

Also, good to read that you are ready to start afresh with a new partner and that you made a few good, caring friends!

Thank you so much, Anita! I will share the link once it is live. How is the new year treating you? Any new plans?

    Dear Ik09:

You are welcome! New plans: to work in the apple orchards using motorized machinery for the first time in my life (to clear the area between the trees from blackberries and other growths). This is planned for today!

Wow, Farming! It is challenging but also rewarding I believe. I am bad with plants in general, I haven’t explored much but I tried growing a few plants as a teenager I ended up not understanding the hypergrowth and hence had a shrub in my hands extremely soon and then I surrendered the shrub to my mum and then she took care of it. Haha

But I wish you all the very best for this new experience! I am sure your efforts will be better than mine! 🙂

    Dear Ik09:

I like your enthusiasm and thank you for wishing me well! Interestingly, I am bad with plants too, so I don’t plant anything, I don’t know much of anything in regard to plants: what I do is simple, mindless tasks like picking apples when they are in season and clearing an area from undesired growths, like the vicious blackberries. I like the work itself, being active. Are you physically active somewhat: walks, exercise, anything like that?

I walk but not every day as my work extends into the night sometimes. I would love to however go back to karate lessons- I dropped out after my brown III belt in school. 2019 was the last year when I was very physically active- I had a fixed routine and so I brisk-walked at least 1-2 km every day. Then 2020 happened and then I have been busy. Also, I have also created a secondary source of income for now. I work as a freelance home decor content writer after my office hours. And so, I will have to plan a proper routine after the writing project ends in February.

Vicious blackberries….This made me laugh 😀

    Dear Ik09:

Vicious blackberries will never make you laugh; they will make you cry! It is not a joke, they are very thorny and they grow very big, easily cause you to bleed, and they catch on to you and won’t let go: the more you move, the harder and more thoroughly they hold on to you! When you feel them on your body, the key is to not panic and very slowly and very attentively move the thing off you  bit by bit. Of course, you have to wear heavy duty gloves handling them. I wear one glove that you use in the kitchen to hold hot pots.. you know the kind? Very thick and big.

I didn’t know you were into karate and earned a karate belt! I hope you do go back to it as well as to your regular brisk walking routine, when it fits your work schedule. A freelance home decor content writer and a poet… impressive!

Oh, Ik09:  it just occurred to me that I should specify in regard to the blackberries: I am speaking of the Himalayan Blackberries.

Yeah, I believe I have come in contact with plants of similar nature- Can understand the struggle now. Yeah, I do know the kinda gloves used for pots, oven-based cookware and then there are the ones which are laced with rubber towards the palm area specifically for use in the garden.

Don’t be impressed by the content writing and poet thing- These are side products of writer’s block- you try trying something else but your mind gives you something entirely different. It is frustrating but sometimes something creative is born. I don’t know yet if what I write is good but I am getting paid for it.
