    Wow.
Thank you Anita. You are right. I’m going to focus on what you said today and put it into practice. I really appreciate this- a lot. Thank you. You are right, it’s time to start being more aware of what I say, thinking before I act, and taking the upper road. arguing isn’t going to pacify the situation only escalate. One person is yelling then two people are yelling and it’s not good. Where as one person is yelling and the other is talking the yelling person might feel the need to quiet down. Thank you again Anita this is extremely helpful. I’ll update later and let you know how it goes!

    Good morning,

I was going to post a new thread topic today but I’m going to wait a few days. My very dear cow passed on this morning. I found her on the floor of the barn when I went in to feed her this morning. I remember the day she was born and how excited I was. Now she’s gone. I will be gone for a little while.
I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

    Dear Lea:

I am so sorry to read about the passing of your very dear cow. Take all the time you need to grieve this loss. I am still grieving the passing of Hunter the beagle, he passed last December.

Thank you Anita. Rosemary, who passed this morning was the first cow that I ever got. I’m heartbroken. I’m deeply sorry to hear about Hunter the beagle.

    Dear Lea:

Thank you and again, I am sorry to read about Rosemary’s passing. I like her name: Rosemary. If it helps (and only if it helps), you are welcome to share stories about Rosemary. I would like to read about her.

Down the valley from where I live (a 25 minutes walk) there are lots of farms with lots of cows (and new calves this season). As I walk on the road, they usually watch me intently. They are alert and quite intelligent, aren’t they? Affectionate too (so I hear from a woman I know who has raised cows since she was a kid).

I’d love to share about her. Rosmary was was 6 years old- she was a highland cow. A typical highland cow lifespan is 20 years ish. She was one of those fluffy Scottish cows. She died for no reason that was visible to us. She orphaned her little calf- I’m really grateful we have the little guy but orphaned caves are a lot of work. She was a big wide girl and was the matriarch of the herd. She had this almost waddle when she walked like an old lady. She was the cow who always escaped under the fence to get to the greener grass on the other side, sometimes I’d come out and she’d be just hanging out somewhere she wasn’t supposed to be. She was very gentle and intelligent. She knew when feeding time was and would just stand at the gate and pace until I fed the herd. She liked to sit with her head in your lap, we had to get her de-horned because as she got older her horns got so big she couldn’t cuddle anymore. She liked to lick my hair sometimes too and she would get it all crusty haha. She was just the sweetest girl. She was sick a few weeks ago and couldn’t get up. Then a few hours later she was fine. Last night she was fine, and this morning I went in and she had gone.

    Dear Lea:

A highland cow, I like the look of highland cows. Her calf must be as fluffily cute as can be!

Rosemary, gentle and intelligent, affectionate, , the matriarch of the herd… the sweetest girl. I feel as if I knew he rjust a bit.  What if you come up with a poem for her, a poem in her memory. You can have a photo of her framed and a poem to go with it… or some other way to honor her memory forever more.

Anita, thank you. I worked tonight, so it’s pretty late. I work 3x a week late in the night to do my surveys for my field biology job. I’m hoping to get a good sleep and sleep in this morning.

    Dear Lea:

You are a hard worker: in the field and in the farm. I hope that you do sleep in this  morning!
