Two-Legged Dog’s First Trip to the Beach

Boxer puppy Duncan Lou Who was born with deformed hind legs that left him in constant agony. After having them removed, he received a doggy wheel chair, courtesy of Panda Paws Rescue.

In this short video, we see his first time roaming free at the beach, blissfully unconcerned with what he lacks and seemingly grateful for what he still has to enjoy.

Three Guys Pay for People at Drive-Thrus

They say the little things are the big things, and as a fan of all things tiny, I have to agree. Check out what happens when the guys at Give Back Films pay it forward, fast-food style.

21 Swings: Awesome Musical Interactive Installation

This interactive installation, which comes to Montreal every spring, serves as a giant instrument, allowing passerby to hop on a swing and help create the music.

From the Vimeo page: “Each swing in motion triggers different notes, all the swings together compose a piece, but some sounds only emerge from cooperation.”

What a beautiful representation of what we can create when we work together!

Mindful in May: Global Meditation Campaign

Today’s video is more than a cute cartoon (though I find it adorable!)–it’s an introduction to a global meditation campaign for social good.

Starting on May 1st, participants will commit to regular meditation through a mindfulness program delivered by daily e-newsletters. This will include weekly guided meditation downloads, cutting …

Amazing Piano/Vocal Performance from a Blind Teen with Cerebral Palsy

Seventeen-year-old Marlana VanHoose has had more than her fair share of challenges. Born blind with human cytomegalovirus, she wasn’t expected to live beyond her first year. She beat those odds, only to be diagnosed with cerebral palsy at two years old–the same time she learned to play the piano.

Now, fifteen years later, she performs for crowds of thousands, inspiring with her angelic voice and indestructible spirit.

Homeless Lottery Winner with a Priceless Reaction

This video just completely brightened my day–though it also fogged my vision. It’s a tad embarrassing that I just started crying in the coffee shop where I’m working, but the joy of watching this was well worth it!

Kayden Discovers the Rain

Kayden + Rain from Nicole Byon on Vimeo.

Remember the first time you ever stood in the rain? Way back when you were little and the world was full and magic and wonder? Me neither–which is why I have a feeling you’ll also appreciate watching Kayden discover it for the first time.

An inspring animated video by New York Times bestselling author Mark Albion, based on his book More Than Money. Maybe the good life is closer than you think…

The Power of Words

When I first saw this video, I thought it was about the title—the power of words. Then it occurred to me that it might be about the other part of the title (shared on the YouTube page, but not here): you should see this.

Perhaps it’s not so much about saying the same thing in a different way; maybe it’s more about the gift of the second message and how that naturally inspired others to give back.

It’s a powerful reminder, a truth we often forget. It’s a beautiful day. Can you see it?

Amazing Amputee Skateboarder

I would be terrified to try these things even standing on a skateboard. It’s absolutely amazing, what this man can do, and even more inspiring that he believed in himself enough to try and get this good.

One woman. One cancer diagnosis. One man. One pink tutu. One inspiring mission. More smiles than can possibly be counted. Bob Carey, you are my new hero.

Secret Santa’s Layaway Gift

Three mothers got the best holiday gift ever this year: the gift of renewed faith in people. It’s something we can all give year round, not just at the holiday season, and not just with our wallets. In fact, you may already give it regularly without even realizing it.

For all the angels who give it here, through kindness, consideration, and support, in comments or in the forums, I thank you. You remind me that people are good, and people care!

Returning Military Father Surprises Son on His Football Field

MSgt Joseph Martel returned home from Afghanistan a month earlier than expected. He and his wife immediately drove to Belgium to their son’s high school football field, where Joseph initiated a surprise reuinion, dressed as an opposing player.

This brought tears to my eyes…all four times I watched it.

Danny and Annie: A Love Story

This video is three years old, but I just saw it and it moved me. I believe this is the greatest kind of love, the kind that makes the mundane magical and the banal beautiful. It’s the romance of everyday living with someone whose very presence makes the ordinary seem extraordinary.

From the YouTube description:

Danny Perasa and his wife, Annie, came to StoryCorps to recount their twenty-seven-year romance. As they remember their life together from their first date to Danny’s final days with terminal cancer, these remarkable Brooklynites personify the eloquence, grace, and poetry that can be found in …

The Last Pick: A Video About Helping Others

This is for anyone who thought they weren’t good enough and maybe never would be. For anyone who considered giving up before they even started. For anyone who ever needed someone to believe in them and show it.

But most importantly, it’s for anyone who can make a difference by helping someone else–which means this is for everyone.

Meditation Remixed: Movies, Pop Culture, and Inner Peace

DJ/VJ and Audio Visual Artist Brett Belcastro created an awesome remix video using over 80 scenes from movies and TV shows to entertain and inspire viewers to find peace within their minds. And entertain and inspire it does!

As a huge movie buff, I appreciate how Brett used pop culture to share the power and importance of meditation.

From the Vimeo page:

“The idea for this video remix came to mind about a year ago while I was listening to a guided meditation by the Deepak Chopra. I was so inspired after attending his ‘Seduction of Spirit’ seminar this …
