Sometimes you get what you want. Other times, you get a lesson in patience, timing, alignment, empathy, compassion, faith, perseverance, resilience, humility, trust, meaning, awareness, resistance, purpose, clarity, grief, beauty, and life. Either way, you win.

If your path demands you to walk through hell, walk as though you own the place.

You don’t have a right to the cards you believe you should have been dealt. You have an obligation to play the hell out of the ones you’re holding.

You’re so hard on yourself. But remember, everybody has a chapter they don’t read out loud. Take a moment. Sit back. Marvel at your life; at the mistakes that gave you wisdom, at the suffering that gave you strength. Despite everything, you still move forward, be proud of this. Continue to endure. Continue to persevere. And remember, no matter how dark it gets, the sun will rise again.

Now, every time I witness a strong person I want to know: What darkness did you conquer in your story? Mountains do not rise without earthquakes.

A shoutout to everyone who is trying right now… Trying to do the right thing. Trying to stay open. Trying to keep going. Trying to hold on. Trying to let go. Trying to find their flow. Trying to stay afloat. Trying to meet each new day. Trying to find their balance. Trying to love themselves. Trying new things and new ways. I see you. I’m there too. We’re in this together.

Don’t be afraid to start over. This time you’re not starting from scratch, you’re starting from experience.

One day you will your story of how you’ve overcome what you’re going through now and it will become part of someone’s survival guide.

Someone once asked me how I hold my head up so high after all I’ve been through. I said it’s because no matter what, I am a survivor, not a victim.

Don’t wait til you reach your goal to be proud of yourself. Be proud of every step you take.

I have fought a thousand battles, but I am still standing. I have cried a thousand tears, but I am still smiling. I have been broken, betrayed, abandoned, rejected, but I am still walking proud. I smile. I laugh. I live life without fear and when I love, I love hard. I am humble. I am beautiful. I am real. I am me.

The biggest lesson for me this year has been ‘just keep going.’ Lost everything? Just keep going. Don’t know what you’re doing? Just keep going. $0.88 in the bank? Just keep going. People played you? Just keep going. No obstacle has been able to crush me. I keep going.

Just because you’re taking longer than others doesn’t mean you’re a failure. Keep going.

‘What if I fall?’ Oh, but darling, what if you fly?

Optimist: Someone who figures that taking a step backward after taking a step forward is not a disaster, it’s a cha-cha.

If I waited until I had all my ducks in a row, I’d never get across the street. Sometimes you just have to gather up what you’ve got and make a run for it.

I’ve learned that you can keep going long after you think you can’t.

Give yourself credit for the days you made it through when you thought you couldn’t.

Even now, as broken as you may feel, you are still so strong. There’s something to be said for how you hold yourself together and keep moving, even though you feel like shattering. Don’t stop. This is your healing. It doesn’t have to be pretty, or graceful. You just have to keep going.

If you get tired, learn to rest, not quit.
