My life isn’t good or bad. It’s an incredible series of emotional and mental extremes, with beautiful thunderstorms and stunning sunrises.

You either get bitter or you get better. You either take what’s been dealt to you and allow it to make you a better person or you allow it to tear you down. The choice does not belong to fate, it belongs to you.

When you can’t control what’s happening, challenge yourself to control how you respond to what’s happening. That’s where your power is.

This too shall pass. It may pass like a kidney stone, but it will pass.

When you find no solution to a problem, it’s probably not a problem to be solved, but a truth to be accepted.

I believe that sometimes the bad times in our life put us on a direct path to the very best times in our life.

When you can’t look on the bright side, I will sit with you in the dark.

I’ve come to trust not that events will always unfold exactly as I want, but that I will be fine either way. The challenges we face in life are always lessons that serve our soul’s growth.

One day it just clicks. You realize what’s important and what isn’t. You learn to care less about what other people think of you and more about what you think of yourself. You realize how far you’ve come and you remember when you thought things were such a mess that they’d never recover. And then you smile. You smile because you are truly proud of yourself and the person you’ve fought to become.

I learned that things don’t always turn out the way you planned, or the way you think they should. And I’ve learned that there are things that go wrong that don’t always get fixed or get put back together the way they were before. I’ve learned that some broken things stay broken, and I’ve learned that you can get through bad times and keep looking for better ones, as long as you have people who love you.

If you have a bad day, remember that tomorrow is a wonderful gift and a new chance to try again.

There are three solutions to every problem: accept it, change it, or leave it. If you can’t accept it, change it. If you can’t change it, leave it.

Don’t give up just because things get hard. Give up if you feel in your gut that moving on is the right choice for you.

The strongest hearts have the most scars.

What’s broken can be mended. What hurts can be healed. And no matter how dark it gets, the sun is going to rise again.

Until you’re broken, you don’t know what you’re made of.

Imagine this: If you had $86,400 in an account and someone stole $10 from you, would you be upset and throw all of the remaining $86,390 away in hopes of getting back at the person who took your $10? Or move on and live? Right, move on and live. See, we have 86,400 seconds each day. Don’t let someone’s negative 10 seconds ruin the remaining 86,390. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Life is bigger than that.

Accept that you will never be perfect, life will always have challenges, and other people will sometimes disappoint you. Acceptance is the first step toward peace.

Wake up today knowing that whatever happens, you can handle it.

I can choose to let it define me, confine me, refine me, or outshine me, or I can choose to move on, and leave it behind me.
