We either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.

Where there is anger, there is always pain underneath.

One small crack does not mean that you are broken, it means that you were put to the test and you didn’t fall apart.

Forgiveness is not always easy. At times, it feels more painful than the wound we suffered, to forgive the one that inflicted it. And yet, there is no peace without forgiveness.

In the end, some of your greatest pains become your greatest strengths.

One bad chapter doesn’t mean your story’s over.

I have endured, I have been broken, I have known hardship, I have lost myself. But here I stand, still moving forward, growing stronger each day.

Suffering usually relates to wanting things to be different than they are.

How thankful I am today, to know that all my past struggles were necessary for me to be where I am now.

Today, just take time to smell the roses, enjoy those little things about your life, your family, spouse, friends, job. Forget about the thorns—the pains and problems they cause you—and enjoy life.

Sometimes you don’t get closure, you just move on.

If love becomes too painful, then it’s time to let that love go and save yourself. You have to keep this in mind because you’ll be able to find another love but not another self.

Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim.

Trust yourself. You’ve survived a lot. You’ll survive whatever is happening right now too.

When I look back on my life, I see pain, mistakes, and heartache. When I look in the mirror, I see strength, learned lessons, and pride in myself.

The risk of love is loss, and the price of loss is grief. But the pain of grief is only a shadow when compared with the pain of never risking love.

It hurts to let go, but sometimes it hurts more to hold on.

Forgiving does not erase the bitter past. A healed memory is not a deleted memory. Instead, forgiving what we cannot forget creates a new way to remember. We change the memory of our past into a hope for our future.

Emotions are temporary states of mind. Don’t let them permanently destroy you.

Don’t let the darkness from your past block the light of joy in your present. What happened is done. Stop giving time to things which no longer exist, when there is so much joy to be found here and now.
