Walk away from people who put you down. Walk away from fights that will never be resolved. Walk away from trying to please people who will never see your worth. The more you walk away from things that poison your soul, the healthier you will be.

You’ll be amazed at what you attract when you start believing in what you deserve.

It’s okay if you fall apart sometimes. Tacos fall apart, and we still love them.

I love when people that have been through hell walk out of the flames carrying buckets of water for those still consumed by the fire.

Happiness turned to me and said, ‘It is time. It is time to forgive yourself for all of the things you did not become. It is time to exonerate yourself for all the people you couldn’t save, for all the fragile hearts you fumbled with in the dark of your confusion. It is time, child, to accept that you don’t have to be who you were a year ago, that you don’t have to want the same things. Above all else, it is time to believe, with reckless abandon, that you are worthy of me, for I have been waiting for years.’

Sometimes you just have to let yourself off the hook. Forget everything you didn’t check off your to-do list, forgive yourself for any mistakes, and stop dwelling on everything you think you could have done better. The past is behind you, and it can only control you if you let it. So let go of what you should have done and focus on the best you can going forward.

Be the reason someone still believes in magic, truth, authenticity, compassion, intelligent conversation, loyalty, courage, and love that doesn’t have an agenda.

Balance isn’t fitting everything in. It’s starting with what’s important and letting the rest fall as it will.

Don’t ever let anyone convince you that your intuition is nothing but insecurities.

Learn to differentiate between the sound of your intuition guiding you and your traumas misleading you.

You might think that you don’t matter in this world, but because of you someone has a favorite mug to drink their tea out of each morning that you bought them. Someone hears a song on the radio and it reminds them of you. Someone has read a book you recommended to them and gotten lost in its pages. Someone’s remembered a joke you told them and smiled to themselves on the bus. Never think you don’t have an impact. Your fingerprints can’t be wiped away from the little marks of kindness that you’ve left behind.

There’s no such thing as a ‘bad kid’—just angry, hurt, tired, scared, confused, impulsive ones expressing their feelings and needs the only way they know how. We owe it to every single one of them to always remember that.

Go where your energy is reciprocated, celebrated, and appreciated.

The best dating advice I’ve gotten was: The signs you ignore in the beginning just end up being the reasons you leave later. You know right away who’s good for you and who’s bad for you. Don’t ignore that.

I hope you find love, but more importantly, I hope you’re strong enough to walk away from what love isn’t.

Even though there are days I wish I could change some things that happened in the past, there’s a reason the rear view mirror is so small and the windshield is so big. Where you’re headed is much more important than what you’ve left behind.

A lot of what weighs you down isn’t yours to carry.

Don’t be afraid to start over. This time you’re not starting from scratch, you’re starting from experience.

I can’t emphasize enough the importance of solo adventures. Everything from eating lunch by yourself to strolling in the park alone all help to shape your sense of independence. If you’re never by yourself how will you ever know yourself?

I can respect any person who can put their ego aside and say, ‘I made a mistake. I apologize, and I’m correcting the behavior.’
